Re: Customer Interface

2014-10-06 Thread Jason Miller
We typically have custom AR forms presented to our end users. In a few
cases our web team has created pages on our intranet that dump records into
DB tables (some Remedy maintained, some not). These intranet sites are a
bit older and were created to make the pages better mesh with our intranet
(they replaced custom Remedy forms that had been used for years prior). I
think there were some politics involved as well (it happened while I was
away for a few years). This was around 2006/2007 before many of the new
web-specific UI controls were introduced in 7.5; which continued to expand
and improved in later releases. Since 7.5 we have returned to giving users
Remedy forms. My plan is to bring these intranet pages back into Remedy
eventually as part of the new requesting console mentioned below.

We had been using SRM 8.1 for the last year-and-a-half to allow users to
submit ITSM CM requests. We went back to home grown apps on Oct 1 and for
that we built a lightweight requesting console with similar base
functionality as SRM. We looked at Kinetic Request instead of building our
own. John helped us get up and running with temporary license very quickly
and showed me how to configure for a POC. Kinetic Request would have done
what we needed and much more but for a project without any funding
virtually any cost was too much money. I will say for the week or two I
worked with John and his crew they were wonderfully responsive and on top
of whatever we needed. I also like the flexibility of Kinetic Request and
the duo of Request with Kinetic Task is pretty powerful.

Just a reminder for all of you who are already registered and coming but are
too busy to keep track of your
calendars - yeah like there is anyone in that camp. Those of you who are
registered probably already have
your bags packed and are ½ way out the door already.

For those who have not registered, there is still the opportunity to attend
this event. We are expecting
more than four times the number of customers to join us in Orlando as were able
to join us last year. So,
lots of opportunity to interact with others who are working on the same things
as you are.

And, some new and exciting new initiatives will be talked about at the event
and you can have a front row
seat to the discussions and the opportunity to have conversations and offer
input to the people who are
driving the initiatives.

If you are coming - I will see you there. If you are still thinking - time is
REALLY SHORT so decided yes now
and join us. If you are not able to attend, keep an eye out for ways to
participate in some aspects of the
event from home.

Re: Customer Interface

2014-10-06 Thread Tom Shurmur
Hi Terri,
We use Kinetic. It allows us to build screens to have the look and feel of our
webpages and to make it easy for the customer to use. We can also build
intelligence into the screen to be more interactive to direct the customer to
the proper place while gathering the data we need to help them.
Kinetic is a pretty awesome product.

We use SRM 8.1.
I'd say about 80% of our users like it. The majority of the complaints are
about intuitiveness/user-friendliness. "I can't find what I'm looking for...
can you put an easy button at the top."

We haven't seen Kinetic or MyIT - but we will be @ Engage
