Re: EXTERNAL: Re: Off Topic - Before the List is Gone! NOTE: Not Gone, MOVED

2016-09-20 Thread arslist
I randomly chose Customer when I first joined Communities since I was neither
category.

Perhaps with the new emphasis on Developers and the new developers.bmc.com they
can be talked into adding another category.

I think we are supposed to send a twitter to a blog on a facebook site to
increase the game score and that makes MyIT generate a change to the system if
it exceeds 3 cups of coffee … or I could just cc. Matt and see what he thinks
….. [see below where we need to be current or future customer or Partner, and
many of us don’t exactly fit that description]

Just finding my archives and WWRUG web sites to move them from the servers that
get turned off in 10 days. The arslist.org and arslist.com will be changed to
point to communities.

ARSList lives on if people are still posting on the new platform.

Cheers Dan

That wording doesn't seem to jive with the new focus on (new) developers that
BMC is promoting. They might want to update the wording.

Okso, I went and checked that, when you check the 'current/future
customer'there is nothing about support contracts or anything in
thereso...lets get down to symantics.

you say you aren't currently a customerare you a developer, do you use any
of their products?.I consider that a customer personally.

If it were changed to just let you provide the same information that you are
asked for when you hit that button, without first asking you if you are a
current/future customer, would that make you more comfortable providing that
information?

This is what comes up from the register selection:

Not going to be a future customer, either. Maybe need a 3rd
selection – ex OHG, now truly OH… :)

You don't need to be a customer or partner to register on Communities

Unfortunately, some of us are not customers or partners, and so
can’t register on the community. (Actually, although I had a long history with
Remedy and AR, I was never a customer…)

I would like to thank Dan in particular, and all the rest for
the great user base that they were and are.

all of these mournful posts make we want to cry (ok...not quite that bad...but
still)just go sign up on communities and enjoy the experience over
theresure, some won't follow you, but enough of the enthusiastic ones will,
and you can still ask your questions, and get answers :)

Dan,

I just want to add my thanks.

I’ve been developing Remedy AR System schemas and workflow since 1994 and the
ARSList has always been my security blanket.

There was always an answer that went far beyond what you could get from
Remedy/(Evil Bird)/BMC support often times coming from Doug Mueller (Father
Remedy).

Matthew, Carey, Claire, Gidd, L J, Jason, Joe, Misi, Kelly, Dave, Lenny, Barry,
Fred, Phil and Dan are names that will forever hold a place of honor is a
Diary Field in my head.

Wow I guess I’ve been living ARSystem far too long.
