Why doesn't my process run?

2009-04-16 Thread Gretchen Beck
Hi FOlks,

I got what's probably a basic level question, but one that has me stumped.

I'm trying to run a command on the server (solaris) from a filter using the
Run Process action.

I've tried

$PROCESS$ /path/to/script

$PROCESS$ @@:/path/to/script (which to no great surprise didn't work)

and just

/path/to/script

The filter conditions pass and the the actions show up as written in the
arfilter log, but the script just doesn't run. It runs fine when testing
by hand on the server.

(The script just writes to a file, so nothing complicated here)

What basic thing am I missing here?

Thanks!

Diary field sizing and the mid-tier

2007-10-01 Thread Gretchen Beck

Hi,

We're running ARS 6.0 with the Help Desk client, and mid-tier 7.

One thing I consistently hear is that, when you click the diary icon on the
worklog, if you are in the web client, the resulting display field is only
two lines long (the text field where you can enter data is fine, it's the
diary field display that's the problem). This is a huge PITA, but I have
not been able to find out how to change this. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Can do a push field action on selection fields

2007-07-18 Thread Gretchen Beck

Hi,

I'm hoping this is an easy problem (or else a known bug), but I'm stumped.
I've got a dialog box with a date field and three selection fields that is
supposed to push information to a form with identical date and selection
fields via an active link. The new form is created correctly, and character
fields are pushed, but nothing appears in the date or selections fields.
When I turn on active link logging, the log shows the actions were
successful, but when I open the form, the fields are empty.

I've been able to repeat these results with a separate dialog box and a
second form with just a single selection field...

This is on Arserver 6.03 and Aruser 6.0.

So, am I crazy, is there a workaround (besides just pushing to character
fields), or is this a bug?

Thanks!
