ARS task attachment

2009-03-31 Thread Peter Boock (PJ)

Hi all!

Installed 6.3 client on the following:

PC #1:
MS Windows XP Professional V.2002 SP2
MS Office Professional Edition 2003
NO Problems.

PC #2:
MS Windows XP Professional V.2002 SP2
MS Office Professional Plus 2007
Problem:
1. Click once on ARS task attachment in an email, the following
message appears: "This file cannot be previewed because there is no
previewer installed for it."
2. Double click on the same ARS task attachment, the Remedy User is
highlighted on taskbar. It does not maximize Remedy User but it opens
the correct record in the background (on pc#1 it will maximize
Remedy User and it will then be the active window).

How can I fix this?

Thanks
Peter

Floating License total the same.

2009-03-27 Thread Peter Boock (PJ)

After adding more floating licenses without any errors, the total
number of floating licenses (Server Information) did not increased
with the number added.

Do I need to restart the services or should this not happen?

Well that where you and I disagree. I think the request was very
approriate.
It doesn't matter if the request was made for professional or personal
reasons. The request was made and should be honored. Continuing the
discussion to attempt to figure why the person made the request is in
itself being disrespectfull.

This is A professional list. Be courteous and be respectfull.

This is my last response to this thread and it should be left to die.

Somebody recently (circa 3 or 4 months ago) posted an excellent
article that did a side-by-side comparison of all the various ITSM/Help Desk
type products.  You might be able to search the list archives to find
it.  I'm not sure of its complete impartiality, as the article was
trumpeted on (but not written by) BMC's site.

Hi List,
Would there be anyone who can help me with some document which
is prepared without any bias which will show the
comparative study done on BMC Remedy productline
specially ITSM with its nearest competitors such as HP and CA. It will be quite helpful for me if I could get the document, which I can
present to one of my potential client where I am
currently having a debate kind of situation on why
Remedy should be prefered on HP and CA.
Thanks in anticipation
Cheers Suhail
