Hi,

Yup, Joe is correct.  You may need to check your apache logs for more
information.  It may not be because of your AR process it might be something
else.

wesley

Thanks for the help. We are currently using the DataImport tool already and it

Hi Peter,

Thanks for the help. How can I turn-off the H table? Is it in the parameters or
in the properties of the form?

Thanks,

Thanks. I will check on that.  Can I just use a straight data import from

Thanks Misi, Meta-Update will handle 500k files no problem.  It has a “light footprint” not requiring any changes to the Remedy server’s forms or workflow and can completely eliminate the need for staging forms and workflow for imports. A simple file import can usually be scripted in under an hour.   Meta-Update includes a single stepping debugger and robust facilities for every data type in Remedy (attachments, currency, diary fields, even status history fields)  and can be used to automate any data operation through the API. As an import tool it can handle poorly quoted CSVs, CSVs with values containing embedded quotes or line feeds, and it can also update multiple records from each CSV row or different forms for each row. It is replete with auditing and logging facilities.   Trial licenses are free and come with our Live Install service which usually results in your first business problem being solved. New:  We have an ITSM Archiving package – that handles a root request as a single tree of data and will include your own tables and multi-tenant rules.  We also have a data migration package that will migrate from 7.0.3 to 8.1 including changing Change to Releases, fixing the CMDB, merging and renaming product and operational catalogues, support groups, even operating companies. For more information visit us at www.softwaretoolhouse.com  Ben ChernysSenior Software Architect  Canada / DeutschlandMobile:  +49 171 380 2329    GMT + 1 + [ DST ]Email:   Ben.Chernys_AT_softwaretoolhouse.comWeb: www.softwaretoolhouse.comWe are a BMC Technology Alliance Partner  Check out Software Tool House's free Diary Editor and our  Freebies Section for ITSM Forms and Fields spreadsheet.Meta-Update, our premium ARS Data tool, lets you automate your imports, migrations, in no time at all, without programming, without staging forms, without merge workflow.  Meta-Archive does ITSM Archiving your way: with your forms and your multi-tenant rules, treating each root request as the tree of data and forms that it is it is. Pre ITSM 7.6.04?  Clarify?  Roll your own?  No problem! You can keep your valuable data!http://www.softwaretoolhouse.com/    -Original Message-From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Misi MladoniczkySent: July-03-14 10:45To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORGSubject: Re: Import CSV on DB level in Remedy ARS 7.5 Hi, I would recommend API-based tools such as the Data Import tool. Or if you need more flexibility write your own tool. Or maybe buy the scripting tool from Ben Cherneys @ http://www.softwaretoolhouse.com. 2014-07-03 Thread Wesley Reyes
Hi Peter,

Thanks.  Our source actually is not from another DB but from a csv file. That
is why we are looking for a way to import the csv file without using the
dataimport tool as it takes us sometime to load the data inside the DB.

Thanks again :)

Yes, but on each record you will need to set the Request ID (Field 1) to a
unique number (padded up to 15 characters if you need to sort on this field)
and also set the other core fields.
If real data isn’t needed in the core fields you could set them to dummy values.

If your source database is accessible to the Remedy database then you could use
a view form to access the data directly rather than import it. You’d still need
to identify a unique key though.

Hi Joe,

Kindly do a tnsping of your service_name. Possible cause is that you cant
reach your destination host. Please also try to do a telnet test to the host

Multiple Result in a Web Service Call

2014-11-06 Thread Wesley Reyes
Hi,

Would like to ask if Remedy can handle multiple result in a single web service
call response to a 3rd party application?

I set up a set-fields in Remedy that will do a web service call to a 3rd party
application. But the application will return multiple result on that since it
is a wild card query. Can Remedy able to handle that? if can how should I
configure my web service to do that.

Part of it depends on how the 3rd party application defines the response. As
long as they define it using a sequence it should work. You map a child/sub

Hi,

This is actually the procedure we are trying to accomplish.

1.) I will key-in a Number, sample is 879.
2.) I will call a web service through a set-fields.
3.) web service will response a multiple element since 879 has a multiple

4.) will Remedy be able to create multiple tickets on the response?

the response being sent to me is like this, which I am having issue consuming

call response to a 3rd party application?

I set up a set-fields in Remedy that will do a web service call to a 3rd party
application. But the application will return multiple result on that since it
is a wild card query. Can Remedy able to handle that? if can how should I
configure my web service to do that.

Thanks :)

Sure it can … The question is what are you trying to do with the results. You
can’t stick multiple records into the single record you are working on. You
have to put them somewhere that can hold multiple rows.

In your case you would map some child/sub form to DDI and then you could map
org_code, ddi_type, and number to fields in that child/sub form.

Hi Fred,

Thanks for the response, what we actually have is something like this in
response and Remedy was not able to capture it. The repeating info is actually
the tns:number and it is part of the fields.

Yes

Part of it depends on how the 3rd party application defines the response. As
long as they define it using a sequence it should work. You map a child/sub
form to the repeating info

Here is an example

This will generate something like

Here in a Filter Set Fields mapping you would map Attachment_Item to a
child/sub form (somewhat like the order and order line item example in the docs)

Hi Guys,
Happy New Year! Would like to know if you had any experienced migrating a
Remedy Mid-tier from Windows 2003 Server to Windows 2008 R2 Server? May I know

Thanks and Regards,

Hi John,
Thanks for your response.  Should I use the installer kit from Remedy to
install the mid-tier on my new machine?
Thanks and Regards,
Wesley

 Wesley,

There should be no problems whatsoever. Install Tomcat on Win2k8, deploy
a Mid Tier war file, configure it, job done. Keep a copy of your old Mid
Tier config.properties file.

should be install.

Occasionally I'll deploy the war without running the installer.  I like doing
the initial config via the installer.  Especially since we do not install our
apps the the root volume (C:), if I forget to change the path in
config.properties before starting TC we end up with a junk directory in C: for
the reporting location.
Not sure why I use the installer for new installs but rename the old 'midtier'
dir and drop in the new one from the war for upgrades and patches.  I have the
same C: directory problem as with an install.  It is just a flow I have
developed over time.  I think largely it is left over from when I didn't
understand TC very well and the installers automagically deploy the web app so
I didn't have to worry about it.  Then for upgrades/patches I just need to drop
the new dir in the right place.  If it doesn't go well just shutdown TC, and
put the previously working files back.

I can't see why anyone would use an installer over installing the latest
supported version of Tomcat, ie the latest version of Tomcat 7, and
dropping the Mid Tier war file into Tomcat/webapps (renaming arsys.war).
These are great learning steps if you've not done them before, and about
5 minutes of effort if you have. I'd always deploy the latest (ie most
secure/patched) version of Tomcat, not a packaged version that could be
six months out of date.
