Re: € symbol
Jose, This site shows all of the possible keystrokes in Windows to produce the euro symbol, depending upon your keyboard layout: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/EuroSymbolFAQ.mspx (see 'Q. How do I access the euro symbol') Standard US keyboards do not include the 'AltGr' key, so the keystroke is simply Alt+0128 (using the numeric keypad). This may also work on keyboards with non-US layouts (using the 'Alt' key instead of 'AltGr'), but I do not have such a keyboard to test this on so I am not entirely certain. It looks like the keystroke sequence for most other locales that include the 'AltGr' key is usually 'AltGr+e'; however, there are a few exceptions (such as 'AltGr+4' on UK keyboards). More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AltGr_key Hope this helps, Thomas - Original Message - From: "Jose Manuel Viejo Lobato" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Newsgroups: gmane.comp.crm.arsystem.general To: Sent: Tuesday, February 20, 2007 08:36 Subject: € symbol Hi Listers; This is a funny thing... Re: € symbol
Jose, Assuming you are accessing the Mid-Tier from a Windows client, have you tried using keystroke Alt+0128 to enter the euro symbol (€)? Does this have the same effect? The euro symbol is located at different code points in the Windows-1252 character set vs. Unicode, and does not exist at all in the ISO-8859-1 character set. I'm guessing this could be the underlying cause of the issue you are encountering, if there is a mismatch between the character encodings used in your browser, web server, and/or database. See http://codesnipers.com/?q=node/118 for some more background on this. What are the language/collation properties of your database and web server/servlet engine, and what character encoding are you using in your browser? --Thomas - Original Message - From: "Jose Manuel Viejo Lobato" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Newsgroups: gmane.comp.crm.arsystem.general To: Sent: Tuesday, February 20, 2007 08:36 Subject: € symbol Hi Listers; This is a funny thing...
