ARServer.exe not responding - 911
Tonight I added a new index to the HPD:HelpDesk form. The ArServer Service is not coming back up completely. I have a feeling it is building the relationships. Is there a way to turn that off if I can't get into the application? Some key in the ar.cfg or the config.properties? If I can turn it off and restart the service maybe things will come back up. This is my production system. Got to love BMC. I don't pay for 24 hour support so I can't have a Critical ticket. The woman who called me said she was going to move it down to a High and I would be contacted within 4 - 6 business hours. It doesn't matter that my system is basically down. Re: ARServer.exe not responding - 911
Claire, If it is building object relationships, the setting is in the ar.cfg file, and is record-object-relationships, or something similar, but adding an index shouldn't cause that to suddenly happen, depending on the number of tickets in your form, the table might just be locked while it builds it. Re: ARServer.exe not responding - 911
Stop the server and check the ar.cfg for Record-Object-Relationships: T and set it to F - it may not be exactly that text but it should be obvious which one it is. Restart and you should be good to go. It may take several hours to build the relationship data on a large system so your other option is to just wait... Re: ARServer.exe not responding - 911
This is one of those settings that you can toggle in the admin console but won't have any impact until the server is restarted - at which point it appears to not be starting up as it is taking so long. If it's been a while since the server was restarted you may not even remember/know who set the option. You wouldn't be the first person to encounter this.
