Hi Rick,

Yes, we have installed Analytics 7.6.04 with MySQL (tied to a SQL database for
the universe). Are you running into any specific issues?

So there you go, it is supported. I should probably try installing boxi one day
instead of asking someone to do it for me :)

MySQL is a super database. 13 years ago, no-one took it seriously and now even
SAP have embraced it.

Any news on whether ARS8 will support it?

Sorry I thought the question was if it can be used. I'm pretty sure at
my last environment, we went with MySQL in prod. I think not depends
on how large of an environment you are running though. We were a small
implementation with something like 2 concurrent users. We didn't
really experience any issues that specifically had to do with the
MySQL DB. Our issues were more around the number of rows returned and
things of that nature.

According to the documentation, MySQL can be used for the SAP Business Objects
Enterprise XI Central Management System Repository database.

I'm pretty sure that during the install, you are presented with an
option to install and use MySQL. Am I wrong?

Just to clarify, BMC Analytics is a BMC product. It is correct, though, that
it is based on an OEM from Business Objects / SAP.

Rick

Given Analytics isn't a BMC product, it may be worth asking the question
on a SAP Business Objects forum. I have no doubt ARSlist may reveal
results, but I suspect there are many gurus lurking in the SAP World.

Hi everyone,

Is anyone successfully using Analytics 7.6.04 with MySQL in a production
environment?

We're having numerous issues, and are reviewing our
architecture/resource allocations to see where we might make some
improvements.
