Custom CSS Styles

2010-03-12 Thread Ashcraft, Roy W CTR USAF AFWA 2 SYOS/SYOO
We're using AR System 7.1 p5, Mid-Tier 7.1 p5 with Tomcat 6.0.

I've been trying to change a single form to utilize custom CSS styles for
the field tags. This form will be displayed during briefings and they want
the font size for the fields to be larger than the default. This form is not
part of an application.

Following the instructions, I've tried to insert the tags into the
ARSystem.css file on the mid-tier server. I've tried a couple of ways. I've
tried adding the following at the bottom:

mytag {

  font-size:14px;

}

I've tried adding the following into the section about fonts (f0-f10):

.mytag :

  font-size:14px;

}

On the fields in question, I've tried adding mytag to the Custom CSS Style
box as well as .mytag.

The documentation is very unclear on this. Could someone provide me with
more detailed instructions on how to do what seems to be relatively simple
on the surface?

Thanks,

Roy

Question: How to create a custom .css file for a Vertical Nav Bar

2008-07-11 Thread Bilinski, John
 All,

I wanted to know if anyone knows how to create a customer Cascading
Style Sheet (.css) for a for where I want to change the colors of the
background inside a Vertical Nav Bar objects as well as the button
colors inside of the Nav Bar? Does anyone know what the object names are
called so I can create the Style Sheet? I want to change the default
background from light Blue to Light Green and the Button color from Blue
to Green.

Also does my form have to be an Application to attach the .css file and
get it to work or can I just point the form to it and store it on the
server somewhere? If it needs to be within an Application can it be a
Local Application instead of Deployable or does it matter?

Thanks.

Actually both. I am creating an archive for ITSM Remedy 6.3 requests and
tie it to ITSM 7.x. I wanted to add the same navigation buttons to the
Left side like in ITSM 7x but I wanted the nav buttons to match version
6.3 color scheme.

Re: Question: How to create a custom .css file for a Vertical Nav Bar

2008-07-11 Thread David Sanders
Hi John

For the User tool, the css file is called arsystem.css and is located in the
AR User tool installation directory. You need to update it on all
workstations. The sections relating to vertical nav bars are clearly
identified (VNavBar)

For the mid-tier it's in Mid-tier
install\resources\standard\stylesheets\ARSystem.css and you only need to
change it in this one place.

Re: Custom css

2008-05-06 Thread jham36
I found out how to add a custom css without messing up my menu bar. I
created an ARSystem.css file that included only the classes that I
want changed. I added this to my Support Files for my application.
I was able to modify the td.BaseTableCell,td.BaseTableCellOdd classes
to get it to show left or right borders for a cell.
I was hoping to do this using a table property so that the column
dividers would span the complete hight of the table.
Visually this is my desired result. I have table calculations that
appear below the table and for each column. It would be easier to see
which column totals are for which columns if the column divider
spanned the hight of the column, even if there is only one or two rows
of data with the table is able to display 20 or so rows.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
James

  Let's try another option.  In the ARSystem.css file, create the following

  This assumes you have the ability to customize/change the class argument in

       table...
         tr...
           td class=border...
             .

           /td

  If you don't have that ability, you may want to experiment with the
  default CSS settings:

           .
           .
           border-width:  2px

  If it doesn't exist, you may want to insert it into the ARSystem.css file
  (but be prepared to back it out if it impacts too many elements):

       * {
           border-width:  2px
       }

Looks like this is for a column divider, not a table border . . .

Let's try another option. In the ARSystem.css file, create the following
new entry:

 td.border {
 border-width:  2px
 }

This assumes you have the ability to customize/change the class argument in
the desired td tag, as in:

 table...
   tr...
 td class=border...
   .
   .
 /td
   /tr
 /table

If you don't have that ability, you may want to experiment with the
default CSS settings:

 * {
 .
 .
 border-width:  2px
 .
 .
 }

If it doesn't exist, you may want to insert it into the ARSystem.css file
(but be prepared to back it out if it impacts too many elements):

 * {
 border-width:  2px
 }

Page 166 of the Mid Tier 7.0 guide says to modify:

 div.BaseTableBar div (column divider)

The ARSystem.css has this entry for that class, already specifying
border-left:

div.BaseTableBar div {
top:0px;
left:5px;
width:1px;
height:2px;
border-left:1px solid #a6a9ac;
cursor:col-resize;
}

The only time I see a border in the table is when I select a row. Any
changes I make to the css file seem to mess up the menu bar on the form.
Strange.
