What version of Netcool?? I have successfully integrated ARS V6.3 Patch 13
with Netcool and ARS V6.3 P16, then moved that to P18 and later to P19..
These worked too.. We had no issues with it..

Well, it appears Netcool doesn't like anything but the 6.30
GA/FCS/RTM/whatever libraries. The 6.30p18 libraries are incompatible.

When replaced with the 6.30 no patch, everything works as designed
(incoming at least.) Pushing updates back to netcool is next. :-)

Thanks to everyone who responded, and a special thanks to Brad Seller.

Has anyone had any success using the linux Netcool 7.1 v5.1 adapter
against an ARS 7.0.1 server?

We've tried both the 6.3 and 7.0.1 api's and neither work. I have on API
and user logging, and there are no connection attempts from netcool.

I won't go into specifics as this will quickly drift to a netcool
discussion, but if someone with a working setup could contact me off list
I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Tony

Yes... both. There is a conf file setting for the adapter which is
AR_TCP_PORT, as well as the ARS environment variable of ARTCPPORT. :=)

I hear that the config file one is somewhat broken, so we're going to try
with env vars.

2007-01-30 Thread Tony Worthington
Well, there are defaults that come with the connector... but I have API
logging on the server and am not even seeing netcool attempt the login,
even though the netcool adapter says "connected sucessfully"

The schema provided with netcool has been imported, and is named correctly
-- and the netcool config matches ARS etc.

I've accomplished this task before, having alerts written into "Alerts
6.3" or whatever it's called. Just not with Netcool 7.1

Re: Netcool 7.1 + ARS 7.0.1 ?

2007-01-30 Thread Joe DeSouza
Have you written the filter that is supposed to write a direct sql to the
netcool's table within the AR System database? I forget the default name of
that table..

Subject: Netcool 7.1 + ARS 7.0.1 ?

Has anyone had any success using the linux Netcool 7.1 v5.1 adapter against an
ARS 7.0.1 server?

We've tried both the 6.3 and 7.0.1 api's and neither work. I have on API and
user logging, and there are no connection attempts from netcool.

I won't go into specifics as this will quickly drift to a netcool discussion,
but if someone with a working setup could contact me off list I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
Tony
