Radio button field just shows first button, sometimes
Dear List, We have a radio button field with 9 options, that is supposed to look like this: [cid:image005.jpg@01CBBBAA.8DA61F60] But about 2/3 of the time it appears like this: [cid:image006.jpg@01CBBBAA.8DA61F60] Only the circle of the first option appears. If you close the window and re-open it a few times it eventually appears properly. This is a regular database field on a regular database form. So far we've only seen this happen on one machine (Win 7), but this form normally only gets opened on that one machine. It happens in both WUT 7.1 and 7.5. So far we haven't seen it in Mid Tier, but haven't tried it that often. Any ideas? Dwayne, I haven't experienced that exact issue, but with something strange like that I suppose you could try adjusting the field in Dev Studio: maybe change the radio to display as one line, save it, then change it back to 9 lines and save it again. Maybe also try extending the field width a little. Sometimes that has helped me with minor display issues. I have seen a similar issue on the selection field not show all options. It is more like the field is not *wide* enough for the alias texts, expand the field should fix it. Andrew. Win 7 32 bit or 64 bit? If 64 bit try WUT 7.6.03. We have had much better success with WUT 7.6.03 on 64 bit Win7/2008 machines. Try deleting all the .arv and .arf files from the workstation, as a troubleshooting measure. Radio button field just shows first button, sometimes - SOLVED sort of
I did try deleting the .arf and .arv files, but that didn't help, so I submitted the problem to BMC Support. They suggested upgrading to the latest WUT version (7.6 p3) but that didn't help either. Meanwhile a PC expert took a look at the issue and suggested this: Rt-click on the WUT launching icon, click the "Compatibility" page, check "Run this program. . ." and select "Windows XP (Service Pack3)#." This fixed the two machines that were displaying the problem, but doesn't explain why all Win 7 machines don't have the problem. (Maybe the compatibility mode was already checked.) I suggested that BMC look into this as a possible bug. Thanks to all who replied.
