Re: Form Aliases (UNCLASSIFIED)

2008-03-25 Thread Heider, Stephen
Gordon,

There is a message entitled "Delete Records of Alert Events" from Jan 10
with a SQL script attached that lists all the ARS forms with their
corresponding DB table names. Is this what you are looking for?

Does anyone know what DB table the form "aliases and labels" are held
in?

I had thought it was arschema, but they don't appear to be there.

Thanks for the feedback. I am actually looking for where the alias is
held.

Example:
Form Name: HPD:Help Desk
Alias: Incidents

I know about the .dat in the home directory, but aren't these held in a
database table someplace? Like I said, I thought it was arschema.

Gordon,

The "Web" alias name is stored in the arschema table in the objProp
column. Look for object property number 60018 and you should find the
following for your example:

   60018\4\9\Incidents\

Hope this helps,

Ian

The alias you are looking for is going to be stored with the View, not the
form itself, I don't know the tables, but I know how to get at it via the
API. The reason it's stored there is because each view of a form can have
its own alias.

The view alias and label name(s) can be found in the table
field_dispprop. You need to look for rows where the schemaId is that of
your schema and the fieldId is NULL. There is a row for each vuiId and
in the propLong column you will find the information concerning view
names and labels.

The structure of the propLong field is a bit complicated to describe in
an email, but it consists of '\' delimited values detailing the values
of the various properties of the view. The first number is the number
of properties stored. For the view name look for the string
'20\4\nn\' where nn represents the length of the name string and
is that name. The label for "Entry Point, New Mode" is
property number 5026 and that for "Entry Point, Search Mode" is 5027.
If the label is empty then the property value will be displayed as
5026\4\0\\ (for New Mode).

I know it looks confusing but I hope this helps. Using the API is makes
it much slightly easier to decipher as it separates out the properties
for you, but you still have to work out some of the values for yourself.
