Re: Remedy migration from Remedy 6.3 (cp1257) to 7.1 (utf8)

Hi,

I would suggest RRR|Chive with the following config.

Possibly with some extra skipped forms.

The ARAPI will fix everything related to character encoding.

rrrchive sync.cfg

source_server   = old
source_user = Demo
source_password = PROMPT
target_server   = new
target_user = SOURCE
target_password = SOURCE
multipleforms   = *
skipforms = AR System Application State,\
  AR System Email Mailbox Conf*,\
  xxx*
splitsearch = YES
transfertype= SYNCTOTARGET
onlyfields  = COMMON
logfile = AUTO
progressbar = YES

Remedy migration from Remedy 6.3 (cp1257) to 7.1 (utf8)

2011-02-22 Thread irina solarcuka
Hi,
Is the Remedy migration from cp1257 to utf8 (both db are Informix) possible
without missing of data?
What could be the best (easy) way to do it?
I've done the the form and workflow migration via BMC Remedy Administrator.
The problem is with data migration - the field length is not enough for
utf8. May be is possible to make the data migration directly in database?

Best regards,
Irina
