Re: Smart IT Issue - Relating CIs

That is a bit odd, as I'm also listed as an Administrator on my environment.

I'm on the same version, and logged in as myself with admin rights so I can see
more datasets than most people, but still most of I.T. has access to at least
two datasets here.

Shawn,

What version of Smart IT are you using? I'm working through a project to
implement Smart IT and I'm using Smart IT 1.1 Patch 01 and could not replicate
your issue. See attached image of my search on one of our servers where I did
not return multiple results, just one.

Smart IT Issue - Relating CIs

2015-08-17 Thread Pierson, Shawn
Good morning,

I thought I'd ask this here (I'm going to follow up elsewhere with BMC as well)
because I'd like an answer but I'm also curious about how many other people are
using Smart IT in production today.

The issue we're having that I'd like to discuss is specifically around relating
CIs. For example, if I go into a Change Request and try to relate a server
with a hostname of something like "Server1" I see the results of all the
datasets that Server1 exists in. In this case, I have not just BMC.ASSET, but
also ADDM at a minimum, but ultimately with a few other initiatives going on
this specific CI exists in five different datasets on my production server.

If you've run into this, how do you go about excluding data from the other
datasets? Would this possibly not be an issue for those who only can see
BMC.ASSET via the normal Mid-Tier interface?

Thanks,

Shawn Pierson
