Just found out that a band in South Africa (Seether) has a song called
Remedy . (These guys are currently on-tour in the US.)

This is especially for those that like post-grunge/alternative/metal genres:

you’ll know their new album is pretty good too? I heard a sample on radio a few
weeks ago and it sounds as good as they were back in the 80’s.. Not bad given
their ages.. They still can grind those guitars!

The remedy is the experience.

This is a dangerous liaison

I say the comedy is that it's serious.

This is a strange enough new play on words

I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend

Active Links that make my user views sing These are a few of my favorite things

When I’m coding, mind exploding
With thoughts good and bad
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so sad.

Calls full of syntax that’s not quite full SQL Full of parentheses that are not

When the bugs mount, think I’ve lost count When I’m feeling bad I simply

View Fields and Web services are the coolest But when I use them I feel like a

Then the ARSlist posters do bring

Re: If BMC Remedy had a theme song

2012-08-29 Thread Pierson, Shawn
I've always thought of the song by The Prodigy, Poison. The lyrics are
mostly the two guys singing back and forth, I got the poison... then the
other I got the remedy, I got the pulsating rhythmical remedy. I don't know
about you, but my 7.6.4 installation is neither pulsating or rhythmical. I'm
not sure if that's good or bad.

Thanks,

In honor of Remedy 7.0 and all its quirks that have led users to madness, I
composed a song. It is called Remedyville and is sung to the tune of Jimmy
Buffet's Margaritaville

Management told me
I had to use Remedy
Sent me to training for half a day
This system is quirky
The instructions are murky
To get through this I'll have to pray

Wastin' my time again down in Remedyville
Looking for the data I lost
Some people say that there's
a virus to blame
But I know, it's Remedy's fault.

Brought down my desktop
Blew up my laptop
Called the help desk, they put me on hold
But there's a fresh pot of java
That's as thick as lava
That'll help through this Or so I'm told

Wastin' my time again down in Remedyville
Looking for the data I lost
Some people say that there's
a virus to blame
But I know, it's Remedy's fault.

Folks on the 3rd floor
Can't take it no more
This new program Is bringing them down
Can't make no progress
Can't make any changes
Maybe their hiring somewhere downtown

Wastin' my time again down in Remedyville
Looking for the data I lost
Some people say that there's

OT-BMC Remedy Theme Song

2012-08-28 Thread Sanford, Claire
My Favorite Remedy Things - Rick Cook - 05/06/04 04:42 PM

New Escalations that run every morning
Forms full of jpegs the GUI adorning
Active Links that make my user views sing
These are a few of my favorite things

When I’m coding, mind exploding
With thoughts good and bad
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so sad.

Calls full of syntax that’s not quite full SQL
Full of parentheses that are not equal
Doug Mueller explaining EXTERNAL strings
These are a few of my favorite things

When the bugs mount, think I’ve lost count
When I’m feeling bad
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so sad.

View Fields and Web services are the coolest
But when I use them I feel like a foolest.
Then the ARSlist posters do bring
Help that is one of my favorite things

When I get stuck, when I’m skosh luck,
When I’m feeling bad.
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so sad.

Every time something bad spawns or it hatches
Lots of releases and lots of bug patches
From engineering to our door they bring
Closure that’s one of my favorite things

When my client’s not compliant
When I’m feeling bad.
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don’t feel so sad.

Friday Humor - ITSM song

2009-02-27 Thread Ortega, Jesus
Since we all love Remedy and we know that the cause of the headache is the ITSM
suite, I decided to create another song. This one would be a pitch from a BMC
rep trying to sell BSM to the VP of Information Systems. Just imagine about
five BMC sales reps in board room suddenly breaking out into this song and
dance to the tune of YMCA.

V P, yes I'm talking to you
I said V P, this is what you should do
there's a system, you should go out and buy
It'll make your business fly high

V P, when your systems are down
I said V P, and your customers frown
there's a system, that'll make you go far
you will be-come IT's big star

You have to implement I T S M
You have to implement I T S M

It's got everything, to fulfill your dreams
of keeping track of your teams

You have to implement I T S M
You have to implement I T S M

It's got everything to make IT run
It'll even make help desk fun

Can't take it no more

This new program Is bringing them down

Can't make no progress

Can't make any changes

Maybe their hiring somewhere downtown

Wastin' my time again down in Remedyville

Looking for the data I lost

Some people say that there's

a virus to blame

But I know, it's Remedy's fault.

Re: Friday Humor - Remedy Song

2009-02-16 Thread Pierson, Shawn
When Jesus was working on the lyrics, I told him another option would be to
write one about ITSM, to the tune of YMCA and make it sound more positive,
but in a sarcastic way.

Most of the problems we encounter are not due to ARS, but rather the shoddy
code in ITSM, and how some things like the CMDB Web Service that a vendor asked
us to install for them to use wreak havoc on the rest of Remedy.
Unfortunately, ARS development is not even 5% of what we do here, so the
strongest parts of Remedy are being drown out by the weakest parts.

That's a good point Rick! You would think the purpose of the song would be to
praise the product/concept/movement

Just as a comparison, the Free Software Song has a more positive tone (for the
movement members, not for the opponents)

Here is the song:

Join us now and share the software;
You'll be free, hackers, you'll be free.
x2

Hoarders may get piles of money,
That is true, hackers, that is true.
But they cannot help their neighbors;
That's not good, hackers, that's not good.

When we have enough free software
At our call, hackers, at our call,
We'll throw out those dirty licenses
Ever more, hackers, ever more.

Join us now and share the software;
You'll be free, hackers, you'll be free.
x2

Re: Friday Humor - Remedy Song

2009-02-16 Thread Meyer, Jennifer L
Not at all, Rick. You misunderstand me.

I've always understood the point of the list to be helping each other
understand Remedy better so we can grow and turn stumbling blocks into stepping
stones. Remedy 7.x has represented a large departure from previous versions
and has presented many of us with unique challenges. Frankly, I feel stupid
because much of what I know about older versions is simply not true about the
new versions.

It really IS Remedy's fault, but some training one of these days sure would
help.

a virus to blame

But I know, it's Remedy's fault.

Folks on the 3rd floor

Can't take it no more

This new program Is bringing them down

Can't make no progress

Can't make any changes

Maybe their hiring somewhere downtown

Wastin' my time again down in Remedyville

Looking for the data I lost

Some people say that there's

a virus to blame

But I know, it's Remedy's fault.

**

In honor of Remedy 7.0 and all its quirks that have led users to
madness, I composed a song. It is called Remedyville and is sung to the
tune of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville

Management told me

I had to use Remedy

Sent me to training for half a day

This system is quirky

The instructions are murky

To get through this I'll have to pray

Wastin' my time again down in Remedyville

Looking for the data I lost

Some people say that there's

a virus to blame

But I know, it's Remedy's fault.

Brought down my desktop

Blew up my laptop

Called the help desk, they put me on hold

But there's a fresh pot of java

That's as thick as lava

That'll help through this Or so I'm told

Wastin' my time again down in Remedyville
