Re: Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing
Update, my stupid domain controller was down. There were no issues. It was just poor timing, the DC crashed right as we migrated the server, so it worked before, but not after... Re: Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing
1) Don't use the AREA Auth, just ARDBC LDAP Config. 2) Remedy service is a domain account. The account hasn't changed. It was working yesterday. I did change the password on the account, and then in the ARDBC config form, just to rule out account expiring (although it gives a more specific error message if this is the case). 3) AD Account is enabled, it's my login account. 4) The people who control the Domain Controller are not working today, as it is Saturday. Thanks, any suggestion, or anything that needs to be checked would be greatly appreciated! -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jason Miller Sent: Saturday, October 18, 2008 7:31 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing A few other questions and ideas... Re: Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing
No, No. Just migrated to new hardware. No data change, just the IP changed. We just changed that back to the old IP, and it didn't fix anything. -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jason Miller Sent: Saturday, October 18, 2008 7:17 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing Was it a Windows upgrade? Re: Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing
Do you think that the server having a different IP could cause any issues? We're going to revert the IP on the server back to the IP of the old server to see if that will fix it. I'm doubtful, but it's something that I want to rule out. -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Rick Cook Sent: Saturday, October 18, 2008 7:06 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing ** Not sure what you upgraded, but did the upgrade change your AD timeout settings? Re: Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing
Shouldn't have. The server guy used a spiffy application that takes a copy of all data on the HD, then swaps it over to the new server, and then does something with HAL to make the software match up with the hardware. I doubt it's a timeout issue, because it takes about 10 seconds before the error pops up. Urgent: Active Directory Connection is Failing
Well, I hope someone out there is watching the list tonight. So, here's the deal, we just upgraded servers, and now my active directory server quit working. We kept the same server name, new IP though, and new MAC. I have applied all licenses successfully. We are running Windows environment with SQL server database.
