The trick is NOT to call IStar. When you do, they call the wrecking ball - just 
like the apartments. So you should call on all the other junk they own.

Since you know of a group that has several million to spend, I can think of a 
couple other spots that would make a nice theater

1. The 200 block of seventh. Similar building to the FastLane. BUT, it is also 
in the redevelopment zone.

2. Corner of Memorial Drive and 6th (1411 Memorial). 12,000 sq ft - 6,000 sq ft 
is one warehouse space. Real cool.

Then there's always the Savoy. Or they can use that money and do something to 
really unite the east and west sides and build along Springwood Ave - probably 
even get a few million in matching grants.

 The New Jersey Museum of Contemporary Art (NJ MoCA) will launch its  
 first ever programming on Saturday, October 23, 2010 with the  
 opening of its Inaugural Exhibition -- IT'S ALL AMERICAN -- and a  
 Benefit Cocktail Gala and After Party at the historic Paramount  
 Theatre and Convention Hall Mezzanine in Asbury Park, New Jersey.  
 The evening will celebrate NJ MoCA's entrance onto the cultural  
 world stage and establish New Jersey's first museum of contemporary  
 art.
 Cocktail Gala guests will enjoy a preview of the exhibition, the  
 opportunity to mingle with the artists and curators, an open bar,  
 fine catered hors d’oeuvres and desserts, dancing to live music and  
 video performance by the hot band, Fall On Your Sword, and  
 admittance to the After Party.
 After Party guests will be able to tour the exhibition, enjoy an  
 open beer and wine bar, and dance to musical sets by Fall On Your  
 Sword and a special guest DJ.
 The inaugural exhibition, curated Alex Gartenfeld and Haley Mellin,  
 brings together 34 local and international artists whose practices  
 explore the artistic and folk traditions that characterize  
 Americana. Featured artists include Peter Coffin, Rob Pruitt,  
 Jessica Houston, Monica Bonvicini, Davis Rhodes, Polly Apfelbaum,  
 Martin Creed, Matt Sheridan Smith, Robert Melee, Grayson Revoir,  
 John Giorno, Mathew Cerletty, David Adamo, Jeremy Deller, Ryan  
 Kitson, Martin Soto Climent, Philippe Decrauzat, Uri Aran,  
 Josephine Meckseper, Les Rogers, Joe Bradley, New Jerseyy, Daniel  
 Turner, Ryan McGinley, Rita Ackermann, Keltie Ferris, Francesca  
 DiMatteo, Brendan Fowler, Michael St. John, Michele Abeles, Van  
 Hanos, Heather Rowe, Zak Prekop, and Aurel Schmidt. In 12,000 sq ft
