[AsburyPark] Re: MM will not renegotiate anything until after May14 elections.......
What about the Westside Center? The new infrastructure? Kava Cafe? You remind me of the elephant who cried wolf. I guess you are voting for One Asbury! When asked to name the city's most important issue, Quinn said crime is a major concern. One Asbury would like to bring the community and the police department together, she said. Her group suggests using more data-driven policing and using technology, community response, and mapping to better understand the high-crime areas of town. --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, ediththeelephant666 ediththeelephant666@... wrote: Bet on that. Someone should forward to them a collage of the slaughtered young faces for perminent home rememberance. I HAVE A QUESTION MY GOOD FRIENDS.If the WESTSIDE had not been so neglected the last 40+ years would this onslaught of repugnant perpetrators be occuring? A couple of sidewalks on Springwood with a few lights I don't think is enough. When everyone votes on May 14, please ask this life or death question; which council ticket do you honestly believe will do the most to revitalize the Westside over the next 4 years? [AsburyPark] Chia Seeds
chia seeds have been in the health spotlight for some time now, and for good reason: these tiny seeds have a high nutritional value. chia is extremely versatile and can make a great addition to your diet. a good source of omega-3 ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) two tablespoons of chia seeds provide 6g of fiber and 2900mg of omega-3 alpha linolenic acid to help support cardiovascular health. The Institute of Medicine recommends that you consume at least 1.1-1.6 grams of alpha-linolenic acid daily. nutritional support • a plant source of omega-3s • a vegetarian source of protein • a vegetarian source of essential amino acids satiety • they may help to reduce food cravings (their high fiber content helps you to feel full, thus inhibiting the appetite) • they slow down the digestion absorption of carbohydrates not sure how to incorporate chia seeds into your daily routine? try a few of the below examples or experiment on your own: • eat them raw if you enjoy their nice nutty flavor • add to your favorite salad • perfect in yogurt and oatmeal author: Sharon Richter Sharon Richter is a Registered Dietitian in private practice in Manhattan. [AsburyPark] Mark........after the stunt OneAsburyPark pulled at the Towers........
Apparently using suffugates to lean on Senior citizens for votes and barring the doors so other candidates can not campaign, I believe their ethics have certainly been impugned. I hope a full inquiry is being pursued by the other candidates. As far as I know, Amy does not live on the Westside. She may not have a full grasp of the situation. I have stated before, I think Quinn, Woerner and Crank need a bit for seasoning. And if infact games WERE played at the Towers, their candidacy should end. But that's for the other candidates to decide. As Brian correctly states, you can mix and match tickets. Most people do however vote a full ticket because of the assumption of continuity. You're almost stuck. If you vote for two you feel you have to vote for all five. The Charter study Commission should strongly consider staggered terms. Three, and then two seats every two years. Then there really wouldn't be tickets per say. MM is stalling inorder to test the political lay of the land after May 14. I WONDER if deep down, MM has always wanted to tear Convention Hall down and build something new. I would have thought the sprinklers would have been put in years ago. My predictionno shows at the Paramount or Convention Hall this summer. Have a nice day! Yahoo! [AsburyPark] a blurb on the 'net about music in AP...
Ms. Lipson tried to get a meeting with Madison Marquette's president, Gary Mottola, for weeks to make her pitch. She finally got it on a recent morning in a sunbaked conference room. Ms. Lipson was in a black skirt and sleeveless top and big sunglasses, Mr. Mottola in a Stone Pony T-shirt; a reporter attended. Ms. Lipson noted that while New Jersey had many regional museums, it had nothing that drew international tourism. 'Except Madam Marie,' Mr. Mottola interjected, referring to the stand of a former boardwalk fortuneteller made famous by Bruce Springsteen in his '4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy).' Ms. Lipson said the museum would be an economic catalyst in the way that Mass MoCA, a contemporary art museum that opened in 1999, has been in North Adams, Mass. 'It was blighted; there was a high crime rate,' she said. Mr. Mottola appeared to take umbrage. Asbury Park, he said, was 'the biggest music destination in the world.' -Interesting article in the Times about Robin Parness Lipson, who is trying to start a contemporary art museum on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, and who runs into a bit of resistance from a man whose company owns the old power plant building that she envisions as a site. As much kinship as I might feel for his sense of local loyalty, and as much as I respect anyone who takes business meetings in a Stone Pony T-shirt, I think Gary should maybe lay off the Bruce Juice for a minute.
