We could build parking garages by the score and still not succeed if
the waterfront is not restored. What would they park to see? The
crumbling remains of the Casino? I spent the day doing field work in
Long Beach NY. Funny, City by the Sea was placed in Long Beach but
shot in AP. No decline there. They don't even have what we have, only
the beach. There are just too many things to argue or complain about.
It's like raising kids; you have to pick your battles. The thing to
focus on is restoring the waterfront. If we fail at that, we fail at
all. Keep focus and pressure on what is most important.
