Dear North Jersey natives: Please stay out of Ocean City! There is nothing to see or do there, and as someone mentioned, it's a ghost town. Thank you, JerseyJohn but seriously, Ocean City was my family's Hyannisport/Kennebunkport for about 70 years. Had a nice sized house on 12th Wesley. It was sold in the early '90s, and is now the proud site of a 16 unit condo complex. Hurts to even think about how much each of those places are going for. In regards to year round residential. Ocean City DOES have year round residents, they just live in Somers Point during the winter. I have a cousin who is 31, lives in SP and operates a Jet Ski rental biz out of a trailer on the Bay in OC. He works from May-September grosses $200k. The scary thing is there are 5 other rental places on that strip. OC is perfectly happy being a summer destination, and paying for the vital necessaties through Property Taxes cops who obviously get paid commissions for every ticket they write or car they tow.
