In today's society, you may be liberal, when it comes to yourself and
conservative, when it comes to everyone else! That seemed to be what
I got from white/black conservatives, who believe in less government,
but lean on the government when it is them who are hurting! See Wall St.!

Nice observation, thanks. That is what so frustrating. When we can't
look at our own baggage before we judge others. One of the reasons I
love this board so much is that it is really helping me to practice
taking other perspectives.

Gabbi one of the very few areas he made sense was in the discussion
of entropy. It's a scientific law and inescapable, and really
showed the failings of liberalism in practically denying its
existance and refusal to do anything to make corrective rules for it.

The rest was what I would expect to hear from a college liberal, to
college liberals.

It was grounded in bias and prejudices; I ground my statement in his
mistatements about conservatives.

The part where he flashed GWB on the screen with the quote you are
either with us or aginst us - try replacing that with GWB's
extraordinarly work fighting AIDS all over the planet, highly
acclaimed by activists around the globe.

Do that and the speaker's matrix fails.

Conservatism has already reached the ying and yang to where he asks
the liberals to eventually end up - he simply doensn't wish to
concede that.

2008-11-08 Thread Gabrielle Obre
Thanks Tommy, I need to think about what you wrote. And I need to find
a conservative talking about similar ideas. i don't agree at all that
conservatives are at the ying and yang. i don't think liberals are either.

I find this so interesting because of my own shifts in thinking. There
are more and more times I agree with conservatives. I truly believe we
can move to a more transpartisan way of thinking.

thanks for watching and responding..
