[AsburyPark] Special BOE meeting tonight and thank you, Tommy DeSeno
There is a Special Board of Ed meeting scheduled for tonight (Friday) at 7 PM at the Bradley Elementary School on 3rd Ave. Hopefully, there will be action taken to (finally) allow the A.P. Little League to move forward with their field renovations. The only other item I am aware of is a Corrective Action Plan to address an allegation of improper grade changing. On a personal note, I'd like to publicly thank Tommy DeSeno for putting in dozens of hours pro-bono to try to untangle the Little League situation. Without his help and the determination of Danny McKee, Little League president, against the unnecessary and unwarranted and counterproductive (my opinion) intrusion of the state monitor and the foot-dragging petulance of the BOE's attorneys, nothing could have been accomplished. Best of luck to Danny as he works so hard to do something great for the kids of Asbury Park, and special thanks to Tommy DeSeno. Frank D'Alessandro Yahoo! [AsburyPark] Special BOE meeting tonight
Tonight (Wednesday) at 6:30 PM at the Thurgood Marshall Elementary School (the site of the old Bond Street School), the BOE will hold a Special Meeting to discuss in public the QSAC report that's an acronym for Quality Standards Accountability Compliance, or something like that, I think. It is a public meeting, and you are welcome to be there. Also scheduled to be there is the NJ Commissioner of Education, Lucille Davy. She is reportedly going to introduce to the Board and the public the person the State has chosen to be their official monitor who supposedly will have veto power over anything the Board or the Acting Superintendent can do, creating in effect an Uber-Superintendent in my opinion (since I do not speak for the Board). If you have an opinion one way or another on this, you are welcome to come to the meeting tonight. Frank D'Alessandro, BOE member Yahoo!
