Dear Netters As you are aware, Mr Dilip Borah, IPS (Additional Director General Of Police, Assam) is a reputed novelist and short story writer of the state. He requested me sometime back to translate some of his stories from Assamese into English. I translated two stories initially for All India Writers' Conference recently held in Kochi where Mr Borah participated. [Assam] A request for inputs about dams
I would like to know, why funds/institutions/organisations that are investing in the dams in Arunachal Pradesh have not factored in the probability of a monster earthquake while constructing these dams? After all, their money too is at stake. If they are insured, then insurance companies should have expressed concern, but we have not heard about such concerns. ( I understand that these dam builders may have scant concern about the life, culture, economy etc. of the people in Assam or Arunachal, what I do not understand is why are they not concerned about the safety of their own project?). This aspect puzzles me. I know, there must be an answer, but I have not been able to find it.
