[Assam] Friends

2011-01-11 Thread Ankur Bora
“Friends” is a yearly magazine by the non-residents for the students and youths
of North East. In this magazine in the printed and internet versions, experts
and professionals from diverse backgrounds, having roots in Assam and the North
East, have dealt with various education and career related issues with their
firsthand experience. The second issue of Friends was released on 11th at a
function in Guwahati by renowned academician and former Vice-Chancellor of
Dibrugarh University Prof Kulendu Pathak. The magazine was also released at New
Delhi during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas by our respected Wahid Saleh. Wahid
Saleh has been honored with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman by the President of
India.
Friends is a global effort by a group of individuals around the world who
worked
together with Internet as the primary media. Our appreciation to Jayanta Barman
and Syeda Mafruja Hassan of Guwahati who worked round the clock on the
publication of the magazine in print. The magazine is available at the Nitin
Bezbaruah Sarangapani Library at the Parijat Academy. Please visit the you tube
video about the making of Friends at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOK1uuckoGI
We appeal to the well-wishers and media to spread the word. Our effort will be
a
success only if the magazine reaches the students.  We appeal for your support.
Thanks

Re: [Assam] CM speaks on his alleged property in the US, rubbishes owning 5 houses in US

2011-01-11 Thread Chan Mahanta
Tarun Gogoi's claims are believable in this context, except that he is wrong
about the assertion that foreigners cannot
own houses in the USA.

See:
http://legaladvices.info/how-to-buy-a-house-in-the-us-if-you-are-not-a-legal-resident/

That does not necessarily mean that Gogoi or his wife own houses in the USA.
But they can if they wish to.

The only way a suspicion could be raised about the house ownership of the
daughter and son-in-law's house
is IF it was purchased with CASH, as opposed to a bank loan, which they are
obviously eminently capable
of getting on their own right.

[Assam] A kiss could be carcinogenic

2011-01-11 Thread Manoj Das
Lipstick Information from Mt. Sinai Hospital:

LIPSTICK INFORMATION:

Something to consider  next time you go shopping for Lipstick..
This comes from someone who works in the breast cancer unit at Mt.
Sinai Hospital, in Toronto.

From: Dr. Nahid Neman
If there is a female you care anything about,  share this with her. I
am also sharing this with the males on my list, because they need to
tell the females  THEY care about as well.

Recently a lipstick brand called 'Red Earth' decreased their prices
from $67 to $9.90.
It contained lead.
Lead is a chemical which causes cancer.
The lipstick brands that contain lead are:
CHRISTIAN DIOR
LANCÔME
CLINIQUE
Y.S.L
ESTEE LAUDER
SHISEIDO
RED EARTH (Lip Gloss)
CHANEL (Lip Conditioner)
MARKET AMERICA-MOTNES LIPSTICK.

The higher the amount of lead, the greater the chance of causing
cancer. After doing a test on lipsticks, it was found that the Y.S.L.
Lipstick  contained the most amount of lead. Watch out for those
lipsticks which are supposed to stay on longer.
If your lipstick stays on longer, it is  because of the higher the
content of lead in it.

Here is the test you can do yourself:
1. Put some lipstick on your hand.
2. Use a Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick  color changes to black, then you know  the
lipstick contains lead. Please send this information to all your
female and male family members & friends.

This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre.

Dioxin Carcinogens cause cancer, especially breast cancer.
