Sir, As we only have one yearly event, we try to add as much fun we can to this event. Magh Bihu name we use because its became a brand name here at Bangalore and try to add all the flavor we can from our State to this event. Still sorry if we broke some rule... actually najanisilu :-) . India will be in $1000 per capita GDP bracket iin few months ushering in the consumption and high growth phase. [Assam] March Against Corruption at Guwahati on on 30th January 2011(Sunday) at 1 PM.
INDIA AGAINST CORRUPTION : The main motive of the movement is to push for JAN-LOKPAL bill for setting up of a central Lokpal and state level Lokayukta – independent constitutional bodies to keep guard over corruption and having full power to prosecute administrative, politics and corporates equally. Jan Lokpal Bill was drafted by recognised people including JM Lyngdoh, Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal etc and supported by Baba Ramdev, Shri Shri Ravishankar, Anna Hazare, Swami Agnivesh, Former CBI Head, Justice Santosh Hegde-Former Chief Judge of Supreme Court- all responsible citizens of India. This bill is drafted such as to create a separate constitutional body with full prosecution rights over politicians, bureaucrats and corporates. The same type of bill has also been presented by the government but certain important changes into original artefact have made it just a showpiece. So, above recognised people have called for massive peoples movement to show solidarity of people for this bill and to push this bill for amendment in place of govt.'s lokpal bill. The main march is from Ramlila Maidan to Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on 30th January 2011 at 1 PM. However, the support is coming from all over the country through rallies, protests, peace marches, sit-backs etc in major cities all over the country.
