With oil production remaining steady over the last few months, I don't think US politics and Saudi production had anything to do with gasoline price. If you want to blame someone and if you are looking for a conspiracy, think about the speculating traders who bet on the futures market. I don't know if these traders are the same people who produce the oil and then the gasoline. If they are, there is a problem in the free market.
