Sphinx is good for R&D purpose and for adding newer languges which are

Re: [asterisk-biz] Bangalore India - Toll-Free or DID Numbers Wanted

2011-06-30 Thread Mitul Limbani
Hello,

Like our other fellow members commented, VoIP to PSTN and PSTN to VoIP
Interconnection is considered illegal and hence you may not get the media
path or SIP Trunking service to your SIP Servers.

Instead, of that, we can provide you with a Toll Free with your own box
co-located and deliver the service within India (However, traffic from this
box cannot travel internet to fetch the content as well as the call leaving
the physical boundary of the data center)

Do connect with me offline.

Re: [asterisk-biz] Belgacom and Asterisk

2011-01-19 Thread Mitul Limbani

Quoting Stelios Koroneos :

Greeting to all !

Does anyone in the list has experience with the Belgacom sip trunking
and Belgacom in general ?
They have (very aggressively i can say) told the customer that asterisk
is not certified with their network/equipment and are bringing all kinds
of issues up so that they (the customer) installs their (belgacom's)
equipment and switch away from an asterisk based solution.

I think Belgacom Guys would have been sold costly Cisco / Avaya
Switching infra which also requires their (Cisco / Avaya) End Points
to be deployed at customer locations and hence the entire DRAMA :)

What they say has no firm grounds / proofs etc. otherwise.

Best way to defeat Belgacom on such game is to keep the customers
informed (and in your hand) and they (customer) will Ensure that
they(customer) tweak Belgacom at their game.

I hope this helps you,

Re: [asterisk-biz] Digium vs. Sangoma Transcoding card

2010-10-30 Thread Mitul Limbani
Hello,

>
> I personally strongly prefer Digium cards due to ease of configuration.

Digium card is definitely good one, but only till it doesnt see a
competition :)
Cost of G729 License is far less then what is being charged.

> I haven't really seen any advantages to Sangoma.

I personally find so many good reason to buy a Sangoma Card, some of
which as mentioned by Moises are :

1) Multi codec Conversion: G722, G729, iLBC, GSM (iLBC is a great
addition coz this codec is really cost effective even vs G723 and eats
up loads of CPU if done on Server/PC Processors)

2) Ability to use it on multiple software e.g. FreeSWITCH

3) Ability to use Transcoding as SERVICE i.e. card physically on
different hardware while using it over network on different server,
this is a cool functionality especially those who are using CLOUD
Servers and mutliple call processing on different Cloud Boxes while
Physically having one server to insert the TransCoding card.

I believe earlier Howler Tech was offering this option, but their
pricing model killed them. But as far as the pricing goes for Sangoma,
they are much more cost effective then Digium, so my Vote definitely
goes to Sangoma for their Transcoding hardware (they are also
promising Video Transcoding on Hardware, so far we have to watch those
card performance vs cost matrix)

As far as Digium goes, I have used these cards, but due to the
restriction of only 92 channels (i have personally not seen 120
channels EVER even on using just G729 on the CLI command: core show
transcoder)

If Sangoma provides one such card for test, I can provide in more
interesting comparison reviews and how we are deploying the same on
customer sites.

Hope this helps,

Depends as to what you consider "inexpensive".
There are the DSP/uclinuc based appliances based on David's Rowe
design

(Atcom has one) although i am not sure how well they handle faxing
Pricing is around 300-400 US$

There is WARP from PIKA (powerpc based, linux/glibc with good faxing
support but more expensive
500-700 US$ depending on configuration

Then there are several pc/epia/x86 embedded solutio

Hello Teye Teye,

You can take calls even over SIP from the provider, however to get
PRI circuit you can get it from BT for Business.

Numbers are generally provided by the provider over the PRI circuit
and same can be done over IP through IP Enabled Provider, but mixing
each other is not generally permitted over E1.
Yes PRIs are available in the DC environment as well.

You can connect with me off-the-list,

I want to find out about services required to have incoming pstn
connections to asterisk. So I understand isdn/pri/e1 circuit and
channels is required to enable this.
What about the phone numbers set to the pri, how many different
numbers can be set and how are numbers assigned to the circuit. Do you
have to go through the same company providing the pri to get the
numbers or can these be purchased and set from seperate providers.
Which companies in the UK provide isdn/pri/e1 lines services.
Are pri lines avaible at data centres for servers located/hosted.
Finally what are the costs involved to get set up and the typical
pricing structures.

Chris,

I think the best way out is to write a small interface which works for
you, rather then trying to look for someone to make one and then
trying to mould your business process that path.

If you want I can help you with what you want to build.

Re: [asterisk-biz] Asterisk Bounty Enhanced Playback Control from AGI and FastAGI

2010-03-06 Thread Mitul Limbani

Hi Bryant,

If you require rev, fw, pause, etc I lt can be accomplished within AGI
instead of modifying the underlying Asterisk AGI (c interface of
asterisk)

If this is not true then mebbe my understanding of your project is not
in sync, in either case you may wish to send me message off the list.

We have use the above functionality in several IVR apps that we have
built.

Also as a word of advise ( you can also look at freeswitch for similar
functionality, u may have to be a little more elaborate and also ur
budget may have to be increased to accomplish what you require)

Re: [asterisk-biz] Doubts

2010-01-14 Thread Mitul Limbani
Well English is a very weired Lang for some of them learning for first
time here in India.

For e.g.

If to = tu
Then why not go = gu (this in Hindi means shit lol)

Doubt is gemrally raised in case someone lacks knowledge on the
subject while question is something we get grades on in exams :)

Nonetheless weird language indeed !!

My cost was $1210.88 and I have the original receipt.
I'm selling for $800 which includes shipping and insurance
I originally started out using a RockForce Quattro+ but then needed
more lines and wanted to run Asterisk in a VM. And there were no
device drivers
that I could use in a virtualized environment, so I went with a
TDMoE solution. The FoneBridge has probably been the most solid piece
of hardware I've
ever owned. It worked flawlessly, running 24/7 for 2 years with
zero down time.
It was used 98% for outgoing faxes (20,000+ pages per month) and 2%
for outgoing phone calls. I was using Hylafax -> Trixbox -> TDMoE ->
T1
I found that when I needed help to initially configure it, Mark
Warren and his guys at RedFone remoted in and configured it for me at
no cost. Their customer
service is second to none, especially when I never needed to contact
them again other than to send them a gift card for Outback Steakhouse
as a thanks :).

2009-12-25 Thread Mitul Limbani

Kashif,

Like voicexml is standard for IVR so is mrcp standard that's created
for speech recognition data inter operability, 90% of commecial speech
engines are mrcp compliant.

Asterisk follows none of these standard inbuilt, n i6net guys r making
handsome money off their connector :), am I giving you enough hints by
now?

Hi Mitul,

Your point is noted! We are in fact working on MRCP v2 support for
our speech engine and expect to release it in the near future.
That being said, not everyone uses MRCP for integration of speech

Freeswitch connector available independently of the upcoming MRCP
support.

Kashif,

I would suggest instead of making a native freeswitch connector
module, you might as well invest in building mrcp v2 compliance, fs
has native mrcp compliant generic connector module.

Mebbe you should look into the signalling that you are using on both

Other isue can be also on the irq for the pci slot of card try
changing to another free pci slot on the machine, or check if the irq

Re: [asterisk-biz] Protect Source Code based software

2009-12-04 Thread Mitul Limbani
Another way is to make it opensource this can prevent pretty much any
one else to sell it for a huge price which you can make good money by
deploying / consultig / supporting it, just as Digium or other
opensource developers do.

This option to my mind reduces that huge amount of money whch you
otherwise may have to spend behind marketing it globally.

Hello,

The best way that we have seen is to provide no documentation on the
code this is the sure shot way.

Plus if you are intelligent enough you can plant some sort of logical
bomb inside the software which shall start corrupting the data unless
otherwise it has gone through your nose.

Pretty much everything else can be broken.

You may to be more specific what you expect - otherwise providers

Hello Sikander,

Using cards inside system is not a good idea, instead I would
recommend using Xorcom devices for FXO

Where do you want to make this setup? If you need assistance we can

Re: [asterisk-biz] Asterisk IVR Developer Needed

Hey David,

We have made some really complex ivr's and which have become very
popular as mobile based education service and live on a telecom
company as Value Added Service - English Seekho, it has a blend of
speech recognition in Indian languages and English in Indian as well
as American English accent too.

We also have voice detection (speaker identification / speaker

scripting and overall design has been substantially completed by an
experienced IVR designer so this is primarily a deployment/porting
task. Key elements in which you should have direct experience and be
able to lead:

a) We need you to choose and implement the IVR platform itself. Our
most probable choice is Asterisk in some flavor, but we are open to
alternatives for the right candidate.

b) This will be a hosted solution, and we need you to select the
hosting service provider. Lylix and Pacific Rack come to mind but
we're open here as well. We will need to support modest loads to
start, up to perhaps 12 simultaneous channels, but the design should
scale for growth.

c) The current application as designed does not use Speech
Recognition or Voice Verification, but we have this planned for
future deployment and it would be good if you have some SR or VV
experience already.

d) The application will use web services to interact with our hosted
transaction engine.

e) We'd like someone in Portland, Oregon but are open to world-wide
applicants who can be available on our time zone.

If you can get these things done for us with solid, supportable
methodologies we'd like to hear from you. Best bet would be to email
a description of your relevant experience along with some sample
design and deployment documents for us to review in confidence.

Hey Vijay,

I also agree with Nitzan, just fortify your base and also do a full
research as to what has actually happened, as in what was the
mechanism used to hack your server, share it here so that other fellow

Hello,

I woud recommend using quad red fone devices over 1gbps Ethernet, all
on 1U servers with dual NICs and since there is no on machine irq
used, you can do away with lesser powerful boxes.

You can also look at HA with ultramonkey heartbeat, to ensure
avolability in mission critical situations.

If you need any setup n confg help we can provide the same.

Re: [asterisk-biz] Any recommendations for GSM cards?

2009-09-13 Thread Mitul Limbani
Hello,

We do have a gsm gateway device which has 32 slots on one side while
it also has 1 PRI slot to interoperate with Digium 1 port PRI card.

This system is made in india and we have deployed it for many direct
selling agents of Vodafone , Airtel and other telcos, and is by far
the cheapest available in market, opting for a pci hardware would just
increase your cost as well as CPU power.

Do connect with me off the list, tell me more about your specific
requirement and we can provide you with a more accurate solution,
apart from the quote.

Which country would you want to deploy the same?

Re: [asterisk-biz] (((GSM and Switchvox)))

2009-08-25 Thread Mitul Limbani

Bob,

Are you talking about gsm phones which also has wifi chip?

You can use Nokia E70/71, N90,91,97 series of phones, they do have
some good stack and also you could get some more details of the same
from fring.com they kinda list all gsm phones their software works
with, and it requires wifi/edge on normal gsm phones to make a voice
call apart from standard IM, second option is to use phones inbuilt
SIP stack sometimes it is buggy but it allows voice communications on
private wifi infrastructure kinda smoothly.

Google for Mobile VoIP to get more data on subject or get some
consultant who has gone and done some good R&D in that space (for e.g
me :), shameless self marketing plug! )

Nevertheless you shall be able to work out on what you need based on
the data I provided,

Wow I dont believe that I m repeating myself again.

I guess one problem that we oldies have, is towards change, we think
that we are old enough in this business that we know that a particular
thing has to be sold at a particular cost, I can just define this as
ignorance towards new people who can come and change the rules of game.

If you can't be profitable by selling at the rate he is selling at,
then better work reverse and find out what's the problem with your
supply chain that is stopping you from competing him, rather then
laughing or giving comments.

I would like to mention words of mahatma Gandhi: first they ignore

So do not ignore these golden words they are still practical and hold

  BODY { font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px; }Hi
Harry,
Yes it seems that you are not having any interrupt issues.
I think the issue can be something related to Hard HDLC or Soft HDLC
and then about the PRI refresh intervals.
Also are you using a split PRI ? like few channels for DATA and few
for Voice on single E1 circuit ?
If you need more fix that probably need to look into this box over
SSH to do further diagnosis, you can connect me off the list to pass
on those info,

The telco has not even been running a T-Bird, just a loop test on
the
smart jack and their CPE equipment.
Since it's an integral access type setup, there is the incoming
telco T1
into the Telco's CPE equipment, which then hands over ethernet for
internet access, pots for our fax lines, and fractinal PRI for our
 digital voice trunks.
It's quite possible that most, but not all of our issues are on that
fractional PRI, and not the incoming T1.
