The best-quality codecs that Asterisk currently supports are ulaw and
alaw. Using one of those will result in the best sound quality.

The english sounds are in GSM format: are we supposed to use the same
format, or is it possible to have a better sound quality with another
format? I don't think file size or CPU charge is really a issue for the
moment, our Asterisk installation is not supposed to replace a 100 users
PBX. Sound quality is much more important. And quality loss is huge with the
GSM format...
