[asterisk-dev] SUGGESTION: Attended and blind transfer in the same digit

2006-11-25 Thread Paco Brufal
Hello,

I want to ask you a question about blind and attended transfer.

Why not to introduce a feature in Asterisk to make both transfers
from the same digit? The type of the transfer will be blind or attended
according to the user behavior.

Example:

- I receive a call
- I press the transfer digit
- I dial an extension
 * If I hangup the phone while ringing extension, the transfer will be blind
 * If I wait to talk to the extension, the transfer will be attended.

Is this too dificult to implement? I would do it if I had more
knowledge about asterisk source code (if someone can give me directions on
how to do it, I can try)

Thanks.

I'd like to add that an existing feature when you do
attended ZAP transfer, and than press flash the second
time - transfer becomes a conference. it's just nasty. Any
office PBX (Panas for example) do a conference while
pressing 3 (or conf on proprietary extension) - then
conference occurs. Imagine when the secretary - (the usual
buautiful girl, with light head and nice voice, who does
not know anything about technologies, and every button for
her is the top of mountain of knowledge) - just press flash
twice and transfer the call to me and I say to her, I'm
not here. Caller HEARS that. That happen to me, and my
colleguses. Not once. Many times.
