Re: [asterisk-users] DIDForSale spam

I don't buy from spammers. Buying email lists may be working for you, but
some people will never do business with you because of it. We cancelled our
account with you because even as a customer we were subjecting to your
unscrupulous marketing.

One user posted that he suspected you spammed him and asked if others had
been spammed as well. Maybe he was just being cautious and wanted
confirmation before filing a lawsuit against you. Do you have a 'prior
business relationship' with each and every one of us? Sounds like an
opportunity for a class action lawsuit. Any lawyers on the list?

Long story short We have a link where you can unsubscribe your email for
any further communication. http://www.didforsale.com/unsubscribe.php  or
Send me your email  address I will personally take care of that and will
remove your email. This will take less than 5 seconds. I am sure there
will be lot of arguments on why you should that and all.

Right. 'Cause spammers never use their 'unsubscribe' page as a
confirmation of a live address and sell it to all their bottom feeding
brethren.

I will refrain myself on any further unproductive communication.

Maybe you can find other resources to exploit. I doubt you will find many
customers with so many members with long memories.

Outoing calls I make using Motif Google Voice Calls continue
ringing even after the other end picks up.

I have to restart Asterisk to resolve the issue.
I don't see any errors.

It's not recognizing that the other party picked up the phone and
restarting Asterisk fixes it only for a day.

Re: [asterisk-users] Outoing Calls Motif Google Voice Calls Ring After Pick-up

2013-01-09 Thread Kai-Uwe Jensen
Saw the same behavior earlier today. Did play around with it some more, and
things came back to normal after i removed the "transport=google-v1"
statement from motif.conf and restarted asterisk. (The transport statement
was required with an earlier 11.x build, at least for me.) Running 11.1.2
right now, and things work without the transport configuration.

Outoing calls I make using Motif Google Voice Calls continue ringing even after
the other end picks up.

I have to restart Asterisk to resolve the issue.
I don't see any errors.

It's not recognizing that the other party picked up the phone and restarting
Asterisk fixes it only for a day.

Make sure that your iax.conf entries for the link between servers
also allows the video codecs.

[asterisk-users] DIDForSale spam

2013-01-09 Thread Matthew J. Roth
List users,

Did anyone else recently receive spam from DIDForSale with the subject
"DIDForSale 2012 achievements"? I suspect that they are using this
list to harvest email addresses and think they should be called out on
this poor business practice if that is the case.

Well, IVR is created in your dialplan (extensions.conf). Unfortunately,
without seeing anything resembling some kind of a plan for how you want your
IVR to be, it's impossible to say anything concrete about how to achieve it.

So the following is as much as anyone can really say about how to write a
voice menu-driven app.

"VPJB" is the Very Primitive Juke Box; so called because it has only 2 songs.
They are /songs/track01.mp3 and /songs/track02.mp3. (You'll have to supply
the music yourself). You will also need to create two more sound files
(easiest way probably is to leave them as voicemail messages for yourself,
then cp the relevant format files to /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/ -- assuming
the sounds are in English. Replace "en" by your own language code, if not).
"ajs_juke01" is "Press 1 to hear ___. Press 2 to hear ___. Press any other
key to exit". "ajs_anykey" is "Press any key to stop the music and return to
the menu". You start it by dialling 882.

It's not really intended as an app in its own right (it gets boring very
quickly), but rather as a demonstration of the essential features of writing
a dialplan app. And once you understand it, it's actually fairly easy to
extend. Just implement each menu "page" as a context modelled on [vpjb].

[default]
; .
; 882 = very primitive juke box
exten => 882,1,Goto(vpjb,s,1)
; .

;  VERY PRIMITIVE  JUKE BOX CONTEXT  ;
[vpjb]
exten => s,1,Background(ajs_juke01)
exten => s,n,WaitExten(1)
exten => s,n,Goto(1)

exten => i,1,Hangup()

exten => 1,1,Background(ajs_anykey)
exten => 1,n,MP3Player(/songs/track01.mp3)
exten => 1,n,Goto(vpjb,s,1)

exten => 2,1,Background(ajs_anykey)
exten => 2,n,MP3Player(/songs/track02.mp3)
exten => 2,n,Goto(vpjb,s,1)

exten => _X,1,Hangup()

Latency on DAHDI - heard this for first time

TDM networks have zero latency we face latency only on IP (SIP) networks.

DAHDI in my reference should be construed as copper POTS, not PRI/T1 trunks.

You can change 'astdatadir' in asterisk.conf, but that changes the
location of the entire 'tree'.

You can specify an absolute path like
'/my-windows-server/my-special-sounds/beep'

You can create a link from your mounted network directory like:

ln -s /my-windows-server/my-special-sounds/\
/var/lib/asterisk/sounds/my-special-sounds

You could mount your Windows share as a directory in the sounds directory
like:

mount -t cifs ///my-windows-server/my-special-sounds/\
/var/lib/asterisk/sounds/my-special-sounds

Re: [asterisk-users] AstDB with Sqlite

2013-01-09 Thread Danny Nicholas
The Dialplan DB commands still work using the old Berkley conventions. If
you want to use the sqlite for functions other than AstDB, then you have to
resort to SQL SELECTs and INSERTs. If you need that kind of functionality,
you will probably save yourself some headaches by just using MYSQL.

For what i know it should contain select or inser operator in dialplan.
Correct if i am wrong.

Regarding the streaming of audio.

I thought of another approach, but I'm not sure if Asterisk will allow it.

When playing a file they're read from /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/.

Is it possible to change this directory to a network directory hosted on a
windows environment?

This is hypothetically possible. If I say Playback(foo) in the dialplan it
will expect foo.wav (or .gsm or .sln44 or .ulaw depending on the codec) to
be in /v/l/a/s/e. If I say Playback(/tmp/foo) it will expect the same file
to be in /tmp. So if I can make my windows environment file be addressable
as /windows I can say Playback(/windows/foo). The "better" way would be to
do a samba script to copy the file from windows to /tmp so you don't have
lag issues or other problems.

You can serve the sounds from any folder. There's nothing to stop you
mounting an SMB filesystem over /var/lib/asterisk/sounds/en/ if you want to
play the files from a Windows server (as long as you don't mind the odd missed
voice announcement when the Windows server is being uncooperative).

But by the time you get to the "h" extension, the call recording should be
finished anyway (a Hangup() will make really sure). And then you can do a
HTTP POST or whatever you like with it.

By the way: You generally will get more helpful responses if you ask specific
questions. Caginess and evasion do not get you anywhere on mailing lists.
Whatever it is that you've thought of that you think is so mega-top-secret
that you absolutely must not tell anyone at all about it in case someone else
figures out how to do it, really is not that original; and by withholding the
details, you are doing yourself no favours.

Imagine you are a doctor and one of your patients says they have a pain, but
they won't say where on their body it is .

[asterisk-users] Streaming/Recording audio

2013-01-09 Thread Grant Bagdasarian
Still not receiving emails, but I'll do it like this.

Steve, I made an IVR menu where the user has the option to record a message.
I've done this using the Record application.

Once the recording is finished the user gets the option to save the recorded
message.

When the user selects this option the recorded message/stream should be sent
off to an HTTP handler which capture this and processes the stream and converts
it to a valid audio format for playback later.

According to the description of the Record application the filename is
available in the dialplan once the recording is finished. This is stored in
${RECORDED_FILE}. I was wondering if I could just use CURL and use some
variable where the actual the audio stream is stored in and send if off to my
HTTP handler. I'm assuming when I just use the ${RECORDED_FILE} variable only
the filename will be sent. Should I use the whole path of the recorded file and
use it as a parameter in the CURL application?

About the streaming, no I haven't figured it out yet. I'll take a look at
app_ices. I hope it's not deprecated. Thanks!

phone ;-) And won't complain doing video-cakk when dialing at 3am.
