looks yummy indeed... but how does it interact with an asterisk? phono
uses afaiu voxeo-cloud to make place calls, send sms and so on...
I do not see a way to use phono without their cloud services, not did I

You don't appear to list the sip.conf entry for the SPA112.

This settings I have googled on some forum and then add to my config

You may also want to experiment with the SPA112 setting "FAX T38 ECM

This option doesnt help me too :(.

Additional info: fax between two SPA112 works perfect! Now I returned

Have you checked the installed version of firmware against the latest
available from Cisco?

Looking at your SIP information when your ITSP initiated a T.38 session
it did not indicate a maxmimum bitrate, it would appear your spa112
attempted to negotiate a connection at 2400bps.

Do you have a sip debug session when you sent a fax from your Asterisk
box to the PSTN, it would be interesting to see if it sends it as a t.38
or reverts to G711 audio.

You will only want to experiment with the ECM option once you have t.38
working.

[asterisk-users] Confbridge doesn't kick chan_local

2013-06-03 Thread Chris Gentle
I have a confbridge setup that feeds the conference from the ALSA
microphone input (this is the conference leader) and then uses
app_ices to send the conference audio to icecast.

I start the conference leader like this:

console dial 1000_admin@conferences

I join the ices user to the confbridge with a call file:

Channel: Local/1000@conferences
MaxRetries: 2
RetryTime: 60
WaitTime: 30
Context: conferences
Extension: 1000_ices
Priority: 1

This all seems to work great until I need to kill the conference. My
confbridge user profile sets all users up with end_marked=yes so that
they should be kicked when the leader exits. The Local channel
doesn't seem to exit properly:

<< Hangup on console >>
-- Stopped music on hold on Local/1000@conferences-;2
-- Playing
'custom/thank-you.slin' (language 'en')
-- Executing [1000@conferences:2]
Hangup("Local/1000@conferences-;2", "") in new stack
  == Spawn extension (conferences, 1000, 2) exited non-zero on
'Local/1000@conferences-;2'
  == Spawn extension (conferences, 1000_ices, 4) exited non-zero on
'Local/1000@conferences-;1'
[Jun 3 07:44:27] NOTICE[18237]: pbx_spool.c:402 attempt_thread: Call
completed to Local/1000@conferences

The bridge gets left in an odd state. Rather than the bridge being
destroyed, a "confbridge list" shows the conference is still active
with 0 users. I have to restart asterisk to clear it.

I wonder if someone might take a look at my dialplan snippet below and
see if I'm doing something wrong before I file a bug report. I'm
using Asterisk 11.4.0.

Can anybody clarify the current situation with packages?

The wiki says they stopped being supported in March 2012:
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Asterisk+Packages

but
a) it's not clear if it is talking about the asterisk.org hosted
packages or the debian.org hosted packages
b) the asterisk.org hosted .deb packages appear to be updated in
November 2012
c) Debian 7 was released with Asterisk 1.8 at the beginning of May 2013,
that means it is supported as long as Debian 7 is current + 1 year
(approximately 3 years total)
d) Ubuntu appears to be carrying 1.8 in their best-efforts supported
"universe" catalog

Furthermore, I notice that on packages.asterisk.org RHEL6 has Asterisk
11 packages but Debian/Ubuntu (pool directory) still has 1.8

Having a look at Debian's PTS, I found that Asterisk 11 packaging is a
work-in-progress, it may be possible for people to obtain it from
Debian's SVN or git and build packages with dpkg-buildpackage

Since leaving Digium they have become unmaintained. If you are
interested in helping out, you might want to reach out to
#asterisk-dev or asterisk-dev mailing list.

Matt Jordan has been working on getting it sorted out, but we only
have so much time and resources. Anyone who wants to step up and help
out, don't be shy! As Paul said: #asterisk-dev or asterisk-dev mailing

There has been no change in the situation. The asterisk.org Debian
packages have not been updated. The debian.org packages are done by
others, so I can't speak on that.

[asterisk-users] Fiber or regular DSL Supported Gateways/PRI

2013-06-03 Thread Nick Khamis
Hello Everyone,

I am looking to getting converged with the local ILEC here in Canada
(Bell or Telus), and was wondering if I can get some more information
about typical setups. DIDs and channel offerings from third party
clecs does not fit our business model and that's why we are looking to
purchasing phone numbers directly from the ILEC, and manging our own
PRIs for a convergence of sorts. My questions are:

* Do we need a T1/3 of DS3 connection setup, or can we function of
regular IPX, DSL, Fiber...
* If we can function on a regular fiber or DSL connection, which media
gateways provide a WAN interface for such a connection, or will we
need a ethernet to T1 adapter to plug our connection to the appliance
(e.g., audiocodes or sangoma).

Finally, if you have recently setup such an interconnection, some
details on what to expect, options and so on would be greatly
appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Nick.

It looks like your database configuration is missing in Asterisk.

It is making up information about the connection using defaault values
as if it did not find any database configuration.

Re: [asterisk-users] Difference MySQL between 1.6.x and 11.4.x

2013-06-03 Thread Olivier CALVANO
The database schema (table) is different in Asterisk 11.4 ?

because i have configured:

cdr_mysql.conf
extconfig.conf
res_config_mysql.conf

and on the mysql server, it's the old database of 1.6.x

i see:

[Jun 3 16:27:59] ERROR[3140] res_config_mysql.c: MySQL RealTime: Failed to
connect database server xxx on xxx (err 2003). Check debug for more info.

can i put debug ? i don't know where

thanks

[asterisk-users] DAHDI 2.6 and OPENVOX cards

2013-06-03 Thread Mordechay Kaganer
B.H.

Hello, all :-)

We have some OPENVOX D410P PRI cards and we are successfully using them
with Asterisk boxes which are based on stock ubuntu 12.04 DAHDI and
Asterisk packages.

The card is recognized by DAHDI as 'Wildcard TE410P (2nd Gen)' and it uses
wct4xxp driver.

Now, i'm trying to run this hardware with DAHDI 2.6.2 package which is
available from asterisk.org site and looks like, it is not working with my
card - i've compiled and configured it. It recognizes my card, but after
loading dahdi and the config, the card is not functional - it shows green
lights even when no E1 cable connected, and dahdi_test gives 0.0% all the
time so looks like it doesn't generate interrupts.

Thanks for your help :-)

[asterisk-users] RHEL6 packages - SRTP support?

2013-06-03 Thread Daniel Pocock

I tried installing the Asterisk 11 RHEL6 packages from packages.asterisk.org

I followed this guide:
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Asterisk+Packages

The SRTP support appears to be missing though. I notice libsrtp was not
automatically installed as a dependency, and no srtp module exists under
/usr/lib64/asterisk/modules

Is it still necessary to do a source build every time SRTP is needed?
Or is the srtp module distributed in some other rpm?

Re: [asterisk-users] Minimum requirement for Asterisk IVR

2013-06-03 Thread Justin Killen
1) I'm sure it's possible, it's just a matter of talking to the mobile network
in question and finding out what kind of options they have available.

2/3) Once asterisk gets the call, it can redirect it to just about any endpoint
you'd like it to. For more information on asterisk's IVR capabilities, I
suggest starting here:
http://www.asteriskdocs.org/en/3rd_Edition/asterisk-book-html-chunk/asterisk-IVR.html

What modules you'll need will vary depending on how asterisk is connected to
the PTSN and to the external IVR application.

'Do we need to install complete Asterisk'? I guess this depends on your
definition of 'complete'. My advice to you as a start/test would be to install
asterisk and all the sample configurations and then start playing around with
connections.

Hi

1. When a mobile user dial an IVR short code , mobile network able to divert
that call to Asterisk platform.

2. There would be web servers which are holds Voice XML .

3. Asterisk would be able to redirect the mobile request to certain Voice XML
server accordingly.

Just for like this setup , how do we install asterisk with minimum of asterisk
modules ?

Do we need to install complete Asterisk just for the IVR functionality ?

Thanks in advance

You need to download libsrtp manually from
http://srtp.sourceforge.net/srtp-1.4.2.tgz

I never had any problems compiling this packages.

[asterisk-users] missing build dependency / mISDNutils-devel and other errors

2013-06-03 Thread Daniel Pocock

Building from the source RPM I get an error

 mISDNuser-devel is needed

I was able to obtain all the other build dependencies from EPEL 6, but
that one doesn't appear to existing in EPEL or in packages.asterisk.org

I then tried adding --nodeps to the rpmbuild command:

   rpmbuild --rebuild --nodeps asterisk-11.4.0-1_centos6.src.rpm

Running as a normal user, the build fails on the line

   mv asterisk-sources-11.4.0-1_centos6.make.err /var/log/

due to the permissions on /var/log/

As a hack, I set the perms on /var/log/ to 0777 and try again and then
it fails with some "file not found" messages at the end of the build,
missing:
cdr_adaptive_odbc.so
cdr_odbc.so
cel_odbc.so
func_odbc.so
res_config_odbc.so
res_odbc.so

I checked my system, unixODBC-devel is present, so it appears to be a
build config issue with the spec file

Asterisk is telling you that you have not configured ANY database.

It is not worrying about what tables are in it because you have not even
defined the database itself.
There is NO database at all so worrying about versions is not Asterisk's
big problem..

The rest of the messages after that are a bit screwy because the
routines producing the error are not aware that there is no database at
all so they just complain about the piece that they know about.

[asterisk-users] Is uniqueid/sequence a safe CDR table primary key ?

2013-06-03 Thread Olivier
Hi,

When dealing with CDR SQL tables, I always added an auto-incremented cdr_id
key as a primary key, just in case provided uniqueid key went wrong.

Now I'm facing a situation where I need to insert into a database's table
and from the dialplan, a reference to the CDR record which is currently
processed.

So my questions are:

1. Can uniqueid/sequence (or uniqueid/sequence/calldate) bundle be safely
used as CDR's table primary key (ie I cannot have any uniqueid/sequence
combination from one CDR record to match a past uniqueid/sequence
combination) ?

2. Suggestions ?

Regards

Re: [asterisk-users] RHEL6 packages - SRTP support?

2013-06-03 Thread Jason Parker

The packages currently do not support SRTP.

On 06/03/2013 10:56 AM, Daniel Pocock wrote:

I tried installing the Asterisk 11 RHEL6 packages from packages.asterisk.org

I followed this guide:

The SRTP support appears to be missing though. I notice libsrtp was not
automatically installed as a dependency, and no srtp module exists under
/usr/lib64/asterisk/modules

Is it still necessary to do a source build every time SRTP is needed?
Or is the srtp module distributed in some other rpm?

There is no channel variable that provides that level of granularity.
The closest available is the MEETMESECS channel variable, which tells
you how many seconds the participant was in the conference.

You can find a full list on the Asterisk wiki:

That is odd. ConfBridge doesn't really care about the channel
technology; if a Local channel joins with the same user profile as a SIP
channel, it should treat those channels in the same fashion.

Ices may be throwing it off here however. I'd try two different tests:

(1) Verify that with all 'normal' channel drivers, such as chan_sip,
that the Conference tears down correctly.

(2) Verify that a Local channel in an infinite wait gets ejected
properly and the conference tears down.

You can do that by:

exten => 1000_wait,1,Answer()
exten => 1000_wait,2,Wait(1)
exten => 1000_wait,3,Hangup()

(Or something equally sinister)

If both (1) and (2) are successful, than there's some impact that the
Ices application is having on the Local channel that is messing up the
reference counting inside the ConfBridge. Otherwise, it's an error in
ConfBridge.

Possibly. Things to keep in mind:

* You can run into uniqueid collisions across multiple systems if you do
not specify a system name in asterisk.conf or do not specify a unique
system name in asterisk.conf.
* You can run into uniqueid collisions if your system clock goes
backwards for any reason (the uniqueid for a channel happens to use a
timestamp for its uniqueness)

Whether or not this is unique enough will be completely dependent on
your overall system configuration.

In general, the recommended combination that *should* uniquely specify a
CDR (when configured correctly) is linkedid (which should be enabled and
added to your schema), uniqueid, and sequence number, with the asterisk
system name specified.

Asterisk is telling you that you have not configured ANY database.

It is not worrying about what tables are in it because you have
not even defined the database itself.
There is NO database at all so worrying about versions is not
Asterisk's big problem..

The rest of the messages after that are a bit screwy because the
routines producing the error are not aware that there is no
database at all so they just complain about the piece that they
know about.

Strange that another manufacturer is using Digium's pci vendor and device
ids. This is not a bug in DAHDI. If this card ever worked with DAHDI, it's
only by coincidence. You'll probably need to contact your manufacturer for
support.

OK, looks like this is the problem. Taking chan_local out of the
picture, I tested it with an incoming SIP call and an incoming IAX
call and sure enough, the tear down fails. So if I rely on
end_marked=yes to kick all my conference participants when the leader
exits, it fails like this:

 << Hangup on console >>
-- Playing 'confbridge-leave.slin' (language 'en')
-- Stopped music on hold on SIP/gent_2880-0002
-- Playing 'custom/thank-you.ulaw' (language 'en')
-- Executing [1000@conferences:2] Hangup("SIP/gent_2880-0002",
"") in new stack
== Spawn extension (conferences, 1000, 2) exited non-zero on
'SIP/gent_2880-0002'

confbridge list shows this:

Conference Bridge Name Users Marked Locked?
 == ==
1000 0 0 unlocked

Now my confbridge is in a bad state.

I tested it on both 11.4.0 and 11.3.0 on two different boxes with the
same results.

So what do you think? Should I file a bug?

Openvox have anothers modules to compile dahdi.

You need compile with the latest openvox-dahdi [1] or diff this with the
latest dahdi from digium.

There is no channel variable that provides that level of granularity.
The closest available is the MEETMESECS channel variable, which tells
you how many seconds the participant was in the conference.

You can find a full list on the Asterisk wiki:

Thanks Matt. I'll see if I can use MEETMESECS.

Oh! I didn't guess to check. The firmware was not fresh, but upgrading
doesn't help.
Looking at your SIP information when your ITSP initiated a T.38
session it did not indicate a maxmimum bitrate, it would appear your

Whether there is a way to force my provider to indicate maximum bitrate?
Do you have a sip debug session when you sent a fax from your Asterisk
box to the PSTN, it would be interesting to see if it sends it as a
t.38 or reverts to G711 audio.
I have collect a set of debugs (with fresh SPA112 firmware) and actual

and then rpmbuild fails with:

error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.isB97h (%build)

RPM build errors:
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.isB97h (%build)

so I think to be added to the build dependencies in the spec file.

Then there is a more cryptic failure:

checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: in `/root/rpmbuild/BUILD/asterisk-11.4.0':
configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
See `config.log' for more details
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.q7wr5n (%build)

config.log reveals that g++ is missing. The build dependency is gcc-c++
- I install that and it fails due to missing make

Later, there is another failure due to missing subversion.

Altogether, these are the missing lines for the spec file:

BuildRequires: gcc
BuildRequires: gcc-c++
BuildRequires: make
BuildRequires: subversion

although I would recommend not having a build dependency on SVN or
network access, some people like to build on secured machines without
network access.

Eventually, I end up with the same failure I had before:

RPM build errors:
File not found:
/root/rpmbuild/BUILDROOT/asterisk-11.4.0-1_centos6.x86_64/usr/lib64/asterisk/modules/cdr_adaptive_odbc.so

File not found:
/root/rpmbuild/BUILDROOT/asterisk-11.4.0-1_centos6.x86_64/usr/lib64/asterisk/modules/res_odbc.so

Now I've tried:

rpmbuild --rebuild \
--without tds \
--without misdn \
--without odbc \
asterisk-11.4.0-1_centos6.src.rpm

and on the rebuild, I get

gzip: ./usr/share/man/man8/autosupport.8 already exists; do you wish to
overwrite (y or n)?
gzip: ./usr/share/man/man8/astgenkey.8 already exists; do you wish to
overwrite (y or n)?

which suggests that `make clean' didn't really clean up after the last
attempt

Finally, I get:

Checking for unpackaged file(s): /usr/lib/rpm/check-files
/root/rpmbuild/BUILDROOT/asterisk-11.4.0-1_centos6.x86_64
error: Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found:

RPM build errors:
Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found:
   /usr/lib64/asterisk/modules/func_speex.so
   /usr/lib64/asterisk/modules/res_srtp.so

so I added those two items to the spec file and finally I have a build.

I attach a diff for fixing the spec file, it fixes all these issues
except the `make clean'

Regards,

Daniel

[asterisk-users] Asterisk 11 + repro WebRTC tested

2013-06-03 Thread Daniel Pocock

I've just done a test with a WebRTC client connecting to the repro proxy
with the SIP messages relayed over TCP to Asterisk

Asterisk successfully answers the call using SAVPF, SRTP and ICE.

The client is greeted by the demo

This was tested in the Asterisk 11 environment described in my earlier
email about SRTP build issues on the asterisk-users list.

This is quite useful because it proves that Asterisk doesn't have to be
exposed as the HTTP WebSocket server: all the WebSocket handshake and
message parsing is done by the proxy.

Specific versions tested:
- Asterisk 11.4 built from SRPM on CentOS 6 + EPEL6
- repro 1.9.0~alpha0 package from Debian experimental
- JsSIP `tryit' client
- Google Chrome

Just some more notes about problems encountered with the Asterisk SRPM:
it doesn't seem to know anything about /usr/share/asterisk/sounds - even
though I install both the gsm and ulaw sounds RPMs, it always gives
errors such as
file.c:701 ast_openstream_full: File demo-congrats does not exist in any
format

I manually edited extensions.conf to include the full absolute paths and
then it works, e.g:

BackGround(/usr/share/asterisk/sounds/demo-congrats)

Thank you so much for the help . I will start to do relevant configuration.

1)  I’m sure it’s
possible, it’s just a matter of talking to the mobile network in question
and finding out what kind of options they have available.

2/3) Once asterisk gets the call, it can
redirect it to just about any endpoint you’d like it to.  For more
information on asterisk’s IVR capabilities, I suggest starting here:
http://www.asteriskdocs.org/en/3rd_Edition/asterisk-book-html-chunk/asterisk-IVR.html

What modules you’ll need will vary
depending on how asterisk is connected to the PTSN and to the external IVR
application.

‘Do we need to install complete
Asterisk’?  I guess this depends on your definition of ‘complete’.
My advice to you as a start/test would be to install asterisk and all the
sample configurations and then start playing around with connections.

Subject: [asterisk-users] Minimum
requirement for Asterisk IVR

Hi

1. When a mobile
user dial an IVR short code , mobile network able to divert that call to
Asterisk platform.

2. There would
be web servers which are holds Voice XML .

3. Asterisk
would be able to redirect the mobile request to certain Voice XML server
accordingly.

Just for like
this setup , how do we install asterisk with minimum of asterisk modules ?

Do we need to
install complete Asterisk just for the IVR functionality ?

Thanks in
advance

Re: [asterisk-users] Difference MySQL between 1.6.x and 11.4.x

2013-06-03 Thread Olivier CALVANO
What is the best commande for put the debug ? because with core set debug,
i don't have a return.

voip-2*CLI> realtime mysql status
Vop configured for m...@myhost.mydomain.net, port 3306 with username
Asterisk.
[Jun 4 06:48:25] ERROR[27879]: res_config_mysql.c:1577 mysql_reconnect:

vop.phibee-telecom.net (err 2003). Check debug for more info.

He read correctly the config because it's the good DB, Server and username

Asterisk have the good information, but i don't understand why he can't
connect to the DB, if i use:
mysql -h MyHost.MyDomain.net -u Aserisk -p
MyDB
i have a full access to my MySQL server.

may be missing in a Fedora package ?
