Re: [asterisk-users] Question about context for incoming calls

2006-08-28 Thread Adam Collard
You set which context will be used in you sip.conf, iax.conf, or zapata.conf
for the specific channel you are using. For example, my zapata.conf for channel
25 has context=incoming which means it should go to the context labeled
incoming in my extensions.conf. My PRI channels (1-23) have context=pri-did, so
when a call comes in over my PRI, it first goes to the pri-did context in
extensions.conf.

You will need a TDM400 with an FXO module for each line you want. A TDM400
supports up to four lines or analog stations. For two lines, you should get a
TDM04B.

If you have the money, I would recommend the Cisco 7900 series, but if
you need cheap phones, go with sipura. I can get you all you need if you

I'm looking at setting up Asterisk for a completely IP environment.
All intercompany calls.

I work for a ski area. I currently use a 3Com Superstack for in our
office. And an old small town phone system for up at the mountain. The
phone system is dying and I'm hoping to bring IP to replace the old
phones. It will be about 100 phones at about 20 locations all within
about 4 miles of each other.

I'm looking for tips on the types of phones to look at. Cost is
secondary only to reliabity. Any tips?

TIA,

We have callwaiting=yes
in sections of zapata.conf for both fxo and fxs interfaces.

With a call in progress on the pstn, a second call [waiting] results in
an immediate disconnect of the first pstn call.

On the asterisk end you hear a loud glitch and a burst of caller ID
data, then it disconnects.

This is with the zapata-bsd drivers, maybe with the linux drivers it
would be different.

[Asterisk-Users] Cisco Config

Is anyone here familiar with configuring Cisco routers? I have a Cisco

being brought in by ACD.NET, a local CLEC. Within the next 3 months we
will be getting another line from them, as our bandwidth needs grow. I
am new to cisco and need help configuring this router. I am currently on
a 1M DSL line with them. The DSL modem is connected to my Microsoft
Windows 2003 Small Business Server which is hosting our email (Microsoft
Exchange Server) and Website (which is currently down for upgrades). I
am also running a Linux box with [EMAIL PROTECTED] on it. I would like to
have the SBS server connected to the Ethernet port on the 1E-2W, the
Asterisk and VOIP Network Connected to one ethernet port on the 2FE-2W,
with firewall. The remaining port on the 2FE-2W I'd like, if possible,
to connect the DSL line to, for backup.

[Asterisk-Users] Cisco 7940G

2005-05-13 Thread Adam Collard

I need help
configuring my Cisco 7940G's for my office. I have [EMAIL PROTECTED] running on the server. Right now
all my phone is saying is "Defaulting CM to TFTP Server". I have 5 Cisco
7940G's, a Cisco ATA186, and a Zyxel 2000W Wi-Fi Phone. Right now, my VOIP lines
are coming in on the ATA. I don't want to set the ATA up as extensions until
this server is running with all extensions and the lines are working properly in
asterisk. You can contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] or my cell at
517-242-1800. Thanks, Adam Collard

[Asterisk-Users] New User Help

2005-05-10 Thread Adam Collard

I am new to Asterisk
and Linux. I need help configuring my system. I have 5 Cisco 7940g IP phones, a
Cisco ATA186, and a Zyxel 2000W Wi-Fi IP Phone. I have 3 SIP VOIP Lines,
currently running on the ATA and 2000W. I have the server installed, but don't
know where to even begin to setup extensions. I'm also interested in installing
the Asterisk Management Portal, but I couldn't get it to install. Please contact
me at 517-999-3078x11, or my cell at 517-242-1800. I can also be reached by
email at [EMAIL PROTECTED].
Thanks
