Dell poweredge 1850 + a104 sangoma card works fine. No disabled hardware. No IRQ juggling. No problems. Re: [Asterisk-Users] Sangoma card !
I believe these show up in some advanced settings even if you configure the cards as TDM. I am doing T1 PRI, and have been able to get away with the default settings for all the advanced options. Be sure that your zaptel file matches all the E1 settings you used in wancfg. Be sure to get the 2.3.3 drivers and follow the instructions. The 2.3.2 drivers loaded, but the dchannels were stuck in some kind of restart loop, flooding the logs and never working right. Re: [Asterisk-Users] Dell PowerEdge SC1425 w/ TE405P?
I have head that the SC prefixed Dells are not good to use with Digium hardware. Considering how picky my TE405P cards were in other low end Dell servers, I would suggest using an 1850 instead. OTOH, if it does work, please let me know :-) If you go to small biz, you can get the SC1425 trimmed down with dual 2.8hgz for under $1k - Ben On 4/22/05, Greg Boehnlein <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Hello,I've been asked to build a couple of Gateway servers for a clientw/ TE405P hardware, and have been looking around at various 1U options.I've been looking at SuperMicro and Tyan barbones boxes as possible platforms, but then was directed to Dell's SC1425 by a friend. Shortstory, is that you can purchase a 2x3.0Ghz/1GigDDR400/1xSATA box in a 1Uform factor for $1,498.00. This seems almost too good to be true, so I'm asking if anyone has had any experience with this box?I'm not up on my PCI terminology, but as I understand it, the TE405P canonly be used in a 32 bit 33Mhz slot at 5.0 Volts. This SC1425 lists a"1x 64-bit/1xxMHz PCI-X slot" under it's expandability information. I'd venture to guess this is probably NOT going to work with a TE405P.That being said, if it works, great. Re: [Asterisk-Users] TDM400P and SCSI/SATA = * noise problems???
SATA works ok for me, but its not like I am running a DB server on that box, just a TTS engine and some audio files. It would be nice though. I had some trouble getting my TE405P cards to talk, and got some helpful advise from the folks at Digium excerpt: "You may need to disable unnecessary hardware on your machine such as sound controllers, USB controllers, extra ethernet controllers, firewire, parallel ports, and/or serial ports. " and "If you are running an IDE hard drive please verify that you are using DMA mode with a UDMA setting of no lower than 2 or higher than 3. UDMA mode 2 is ATA33" - "We would suggest using an IDE harddrive rather than SCSI or SATA in order to configure your hard drive to UDMA2. Configuring a SCSI or SATA hard drive to UDMA2 is not possible. " Well there goes disk performance :-P and "Please ensure that you are not running X-Windows, frame-buffer, or serial console, as these will cause problems with our hardware." oh, and "If you are still having IRQ misses with our hardware you could try booting your kernel with "acpi=off" and/or "noapic" to disable ACPI power management andAPIC. These has been known to cause interrupt sharing problems as well." The good news is that it will probably work if you do all that stuff ;-) - Ben___ Asterisk-Users mailing list Asterisk-Users@lists.digium.com http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

I am also seeing the same problem on asterisk-users. I reported the problem to gmail, but got some generic response saying that they are looking into it. It might help if other gmail users also report this bug. Did you notice anything change in the headers from the list server than would cause them to do this, or is it just gmail doing bonkers? - Ben On 4/15/05, Sig Lange <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Starting around Apr 14th Gmail has started marking all messages for Asterisk-Users as spam. [Asterisk-Users] Dell suggestions for Quad T1 system
Hi everyone, I am trying to find a reliable & reproducible system to run quad PRI on a TE405P or TE410P. I currently have 2 TE405P I am testing with. For reasons out of my control, my company prefers to go with Dell. Currently I have a few poweredge 750 and several poweredge 400SC to play around with. These are fine for testing but I would be using something beefier for production. After much, much hassle, I was able to get it to work on the PE 400SC. These systems are really low end, and I would like to ask for some suggestions before spending $3-5k on a high end system just to find that it won't work. Also, the PE 400SC seem to be replaced by the 420SC and digium seems to be having no end of trouble with these and told me to stay away from other SC prefixed models (including the SC1425?). So far I have found that I have to: Disable all extra hardware (USB, serial, parallel, etc) and pray that it finds its own IRQ (the BIOS does not allow changing IRQs) Not run X windows Disable framebuffer Disable Hyperthreading (This is a real bummber, I could have used the extra cpu) Kernel ACPI settings seems to be irrelevant When I do see problems, It happens near capacity. All of the systems I will be running will be using all 92 lines when they are being used. Has anyone tested any of the new Dell systems in a production environment with this kind of load? Specifically I am looking at the 1850 and 2850. On a side note, are there any extra IRQ problems introduced by a dual CPU system? Re: [Asterisk-Users] Unable to open master device '/dev/zap/ctl'
Do you have /dev/zap* files? (not in subdirectory) If so, maybe something is wrong with the udev configs. If not, maybe the zaptel module is not loading. The /dev/zap/* files are created with the zaptel module before any card specific module. [Asterisk-Users] Answering machine detection
Hi all, I would like to have basic answering machine detection for a notification service (not spam, not telemarketing) so that I know when I get a machine, and also to avoid starting the message during the machine greeting. I have found the WaitForSilence app in CVS, and this seems like it would do exactly what I need, but does not seem to work in my setup. I am making the call over VoIP (tryed AIX and SIP with GSM), but keep getting errors where it calls app_waitfor(). I get these messages on the console: "One waitfor failed. " "No audio available on ??" If I use IAX, the progress will wait for some silence, but still display the error after it gets some silence. If I use SIP, it will never wait more than a few seconds and doesn't seem to wait for any silence at all. Does anyone know of some other ways (ie applications) to detect answering machines?
