The Juniper Networks security product line, Netscreen, has very robust SIP
support with firewall and VPN.

I'll agree with that sentence. There are many times when even STUN and
 so on
isn't going to help. In Guatemala, a lot of people end up with private
 IPs,
behind two NATs, etc. I've seen them aggressively timeout connections,
 limit
the range of ports available for NAT (to a ridiculously low number),
 etc.
etc. We gave up on SIP and are now using IAX for our customer phones.

 Hi All,

I have a question for you:

 - SIP doesn't work behind NAT very well

Do you agree with this sentence?

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Uniden UIP200 firmware v4.63

I just spent the last hour or so trying to get this firmware to work
 across
a NAT with no success. I have a GS BT101 working through the same NAT,
 so I
don't think it's the NAT itself.

I have a STUN setup in * and pointed the UIP200 to it and I tryed
 several
combinations of nat= in the sip.conf and in the config files for this
 phone.
No luck(yes, I did a reload now with each change in the sip.conf).

Does the UIP 200 work across a nat yet? If it does, care to share your
 config for it?

 Thanks,
 Lyle

Actually, the two fixes that worked to solve this were:

   1. Add the following to /etc/rc.d/rc.local:
/sbin/modprobe wcfxo
 or
   2. cd to /usr/src/zaptel-1.0.3 and do a make config
