RE: [Asterisk-Users] WAMi - Windows Asterisk Manager

2004-04-06 Thread Jason Ross

I can't seem to find where I am supposed to create the config file, nor
do I know what the default admin password is..

Any suggestions?

Have a look at the readme in the zip file, specifically the bit about the
xml config file. Haven't made it work yet myself but it is probably a good
place to start.

[Asterisk-Users] FireFly Problem

2004-04-03 Thread Jason Ross
G'Day,

I have a bit of FireFly problem that hopefully someone has seen before.
What happens is if I make to or receive a call from the FireFly network
the call will connect successfully. However, around 10 seconds after I
answer the call I am disconnected. The weird thing is same thing happens
if I make a call.

I've had a look at the * console and I can't see that my * PBX drops the
call, I've also run an iax2 debug and can't see anything out of the norm
there either.

I've configured the FF client to talk to my * PBX directly and it works
perfectly because I do not get any disconnects. I also have two other
IAX peers (voiptak and nufone) and they also work flawlessly. I'm ruling
out configuration issues as essentially this service is working for me,
but I'm open to suggestions..

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

JR

Calling Cisco a half dozen times, that is the only service agreement

 outside the UK there is
 http://www.ams.net/products/product_info.cfm?Product_ID=10891
at $6.90 - dont know if they'd deal with people outside the US.

However, elsewhere that part number doesn't seem to mean much.
A 7940 is a cateogory 1 device so product codes that seem to mean
 something to others are:

 CON-SW-VPKG1 (insight.com/uk - £39.99, tradeprice.co.uk - £31.99)
telephone and web support only (search with smartnet on tradeprice,
their search doesn't seem to like part numbers)

CON-AR-VPKG1 - advanced replacement - normally cheaper than above but
didn't provide web support so I didn't look into it

 CON-SNT-VPKG1 - 8x5xNBD version (8am-5pm, next business day) which I
believe is when you can expect support and get hardware replacement
 respectively
 (insight.com/uk - £63.99, tradeprice.co.uk - £45.35)

you can pay more for 24/7 support, 4hr response time or onsite engineer

I ended up going with insight coz I didn't find tradeprice till after,
so dont know what they're like

Also, it seems to take ages for the contract to get registered (2+
weeks) with cisco once u finally get one

Joel,

Compared to iaxtel or FWD, there is a significantly higher amount of
 latency, but it is workable.

You will see and hear more latency because the service is based out of
Australia. If you run a ping to the host you'll see nice and long round
trip times.

[Asterisk-Users] Asterisk Run Problem

2003-11-29 Thread Jason Ross
Hi,

I've just built asterisk on a RedHat 7.2 box from the current cvs which
I have built a standalone Asterisk on before. It appears to compile OK
but when I attempt to start the daemon I'm seeing the following error
messages:

[cdr_csv.so] = (Comma Separated Values CDR Backend)
[cdr_pgsql.so]WARNING[1024]: File loader.c, Line 239
(ast_load_resource): /usr/kerberos/lib/libk5crypto.so` : shared
object not open
WARNING[1024]: File loader.c, Line 407 (load_modules): Loading module
cdr_pgsql.so failed!

There is no Digium hardware in the box and the lib5crypto.so file is in
the correct location and all dependencies appear to be satisfied. I've
also had a search in the archive and I can't find anything relating to
this problem so I was wondering if anyone had an idea as to what may be
causing this issue.

Thanks,

Should I prefer the G and why?
Don't know the answer to this one, I get the impression that it has a
few minor hardware revisions.

Related question, is the 7960 worth so much more than the 7940?
Has only 4 more buttons that I can see. Anything else under the
hood that makes it worth that?
The SIP code is the same for the two phones, as far as I can see the
only difference is the 4 extra lines you can configure. I've got a
couple of 7940 phones and one SNOM 100, I think I'll be sticking with
the Cisco product as it seems to be more reliable and generally just
works better.
