Re: [Asterisk-Users] XML How To for Cisco 7960
I have SIPDefault.cnf SIPxx.cnf but neither has anything in it related to XML SoftKey use nor does the manual suggest parameters related to xml use. Am I missing something? I added services_url: http://phone-xml.berbee.com/menu.xml to my SIPDefault.cnf and it has some cool functionality. Weather, stock prices etc. Good examples of what is possible. The area code lookup doesn't seemd to work the bottome choice is corrupted. Just press the keypad number of the choice you want. On the 79x0 sip phone, the SIPDefault.cnf file includes an entry like: services_url: http://host.domain.com/asterisk/services.html; and the html/xml code at that location can display choices, but I wouldn't call those softkeys by any stretch. The are simply menu choices that can be selected via scrolling up/down and pressing the Select softkey. This web site uses softkeys, I am running Sip 7.1, it is possible services_url: http://phone-xml.berbee.com/menu.xml -Matt ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

I've been looking for the same thing. My Nortel system does that, and it is very addictive! Brian, Please let me know if you find anything about it. [Asterisk-Users] Software to test a LAN for possible VoIP Install
Aloha, Does anyone know of any opensource or inexpensive software that can test a network for a possible VoIP installation? I have seen Chariot by NetIQ, but it is very costly! I am envisioning two or three client devices that talk to a server device. Each client could simulate 1-100 VoIP phone calls. The server module would monitor the QOS, jitter, etc., and provide some kind of score. Re: [Asterisk-Users] Software to test a LAN for possible VoIP Install
One of the primary disruptions for VoIP (from any company) is discarded and/or delayed packets. You don't need expensive test equipment to determine if a customer's network is dropping packets. Just go do a full network discovery and a baseline that includes the primary business hours, and look at the stats. I hear ya, but I am trying to install a new infrastructure for this client. It would be nice to have some imperical data to point to. On the other hand, my wife and I have been talking about another trip to your area. Maybe I can help??? [Asterisk-Users] Text to Speech - Someone needs to do this
Why hasn't someone found 50 people who sound alike, put them in sound studios and record the 10,000 most commonly used words. You would all differnent forms of the 1,000 most words, i.e. leading, trailing, question etc. You can synthesize the other 0.05% when you run into them. With hard drives so big, processors so fast and EXT3 that can handle 30,000+ files in a single directory that seems like the way to do it. You could sell it for BIG bucks. -Matt ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
Re: [Asterisk-Users] Poll - Would you pay $30-$50 for high quality speech synthesis?
If you would be willing to pay for this kind of software, please e-mail me privately (not to the list). Please indicate your purchase timeframe as well as the number of licenses, extra voices, and processors you would want. It should be simple, call an executable, with two parameters, the file where the text is and what to name the output sound file. I would pay for that. We could sell at least 10-15 per month. -Matt ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
Fw: [Asterisk-Users] X100P questions
Well there are some products which may fit your bill, but will take more of your bills: www.voicetronix.com sells a 4 port PCI FXO at about AU$1000, a 6 port I think their 4 port card is FXS, can it be FXO as well? -Matt I'm sorry, I pick a bad week to stop sniffing glue, you are entirely correct. Re: [Asterisk-Users] X100P questions
Is there a product to bring in more than one POTS line short of a full T1? It just seems silly that the technology hasn't advanced any further than to have a single line per card. We are working on an FXO module for the TDM400P and hope to have it ready in a couple of months for initial testing, but no firm deadline. When that's ready we will have a multiport solution. In the mean time, there is always VoiceTronix, which now has support within Asterisk contributed. Does that mean that the Voicetronix is navibly supported by Asterisk? -Matt ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Re: [Asterisk-Users] How much to use Dialogic?
I think dealer cost is about $1800. plop sound of jaw hitting floor. Why not set up a T1 interconnect with an asterisk box? I'm sure the $500 T100P and the cost of a T1 port is smaller than the Dialogic card, the licenses for the dialogic driver, and this device you mention. Not to mention the wiring mess of that many analog ports. 1 wire is nicer. BTW, I think it has been covered here before that the D41 is a half duplex card and wouldn't be good for conferencing. Steven, I will look into it. Looks like it could be a winner ___ Asterisk-Users mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Re: [Asterisk-Users] How much to use Dialogic?
Slightly Off topic: What are you using to convert the digital ports to analog with DS? We've tried the ATA and ATA 2, and neither have DS. The Norstar VMI was the only device we could find, but is a little overkill. Correct, with the Norstar or BCM the ATA's don't provide DS. I have attached a brouchure that will do it. It converts eight ports. I have talked to two people who have used it extensivly. It looks like it was built in someone's garage, but it works well I hear. The email was too large and got rejected by the bot. I put it on our web server, mail.comtelhi.com/nortel/DS8000A.pdf if you want to download it.
