[asterisk-users] Cisco 7910 and Asterisk

2008-03-01 Thread Mr Gabriel Ogunleye
Dear All,

Has anyone got these phones to work with Asterisk? I have about 20 of
them, and not very long to get them working :)

[asterisk-users] Cisco 7910 Handsets: Skinny protocol?

2008-01-17 Thread Mr Gabriel Ogunleye
Dear all.

I have about 30 Cisco 7910 handsets, and my basic research has told me that
they are not SIP based handsets. Not to worry for now, I just need them to
connect to my asterisk server. They are giving me a bit of a hard time. Has
anyone here had any experience on how to do this? Documentation on the
internet is seriously lacking.

Best regards,

Just a heads-up while schan_sccp doesn't yet support
hold/transfer/voicemail buttons they code for hold and voicemail has
been written it just needs to be tested.
If anyone is intrested please drop me a private e-mail and I'll send you

No. The 7910 is Skinny only, see chan_skinny in Asterisk or chan_sccp

Cisco's site shows SIP drivers for 7960, 7940, 7912, 7905 only. If you want
to run 7910 in Skinny mode, that may work. I'll leave that up to the
chan_sccp and chan_skinny people.

The 7910 has been reported to work with chan_sccp.

However, if you're about to buy a phone, I'd strongly recommend you not to
use the 7910, but either spend the few extra bucks for a 7960 or 7940
(only difference is the number of line/speeddial buttons) or take the
7905.
While the 7905 doesn't have Speakerphone, its SIP image has by far the
best user interface of all cisco SIP phones, plus it's nicely compact, and
the display even has a higher resolution than that of the 7960...
IIRC, it should also be the cheapest Cisco phone.

Cheers,
Siggi

Hello,

I'm looking at getting some Cisco 7910G+SW phones through a local

Is anyone currently using these with asterisk?

Any special limitations with this one as compared to the 7940 and 7960's?

Will they work with SIP or are they stuck in Cisco-land with Call-Manager
only?

Thanks,
