How much do you want to spend and do you really want the name??

Haven't used the Cisco, way too pricey..

Snom's work great..

You have to look at what CODEC support you want also.
My Cisco 7960 phones work great, but the only low bandwidth codec is G.729.

Obviously the prices are by no means, comparable. However, I'd go with the
Cisco 7960 - from my experience, they've been incredibly easy to configure
and the user interface is slick. Along with XML capabilitites, are office
'geeks' are enjoying them (that includes me.) Sound quality is great with
headset, and OK with speaker. Ability to have multiple SIP extensions setup
is a huge plus.

Cheers,
Phillip

I'd suggest most speakerphones are half duplex (but that's a technical
argument, no user oriented).

I've got both phones setting next to each other and both operate in
a partial production/lab environment. Both do a good job.

Issues with the Snom 200 (mostly minor):
 - lite weight, slides around the desk easily
 - Date-Time display changes to __/__/__ frequently (probably the way
I have it set up for time sync, haven't bothered to check)
 - Software updates (beta) happen almost weekly
 - audio quality is equal to 7960 for everything I've tried
 - buttons require more force to push
 - remotely configurable via web browser (not much security)

Could you simulate a consultating transfer in extensions.conf
by dialing an extension that would put relivent parties in a
conference room.
You then program a butten to dail the extension. I've not
looked into it or thought out the details yet. but it seems
like it could work.

What about the call quality between the cisco and the Snom on the
handset and speakerphone? Has anyone had experience using both and
noticed that the quality better or worse on one or the other.

i.e. - I'm not sure if the Snom is full-duplex speakerphone?

Thanks,
Ed

I prefer 7960.

Works out of the box with no problems, it
is “sexy” and after all it is Cisco gear.
