[Asterisk-Users] Codec Order / Preference

2004-02-23 Thread Daniel Bichara
Hi,

I wish my IAX connection negotiates codecs in the following order:

1) speex
2) gsm
3) alaw
Is it possible? I tried and I detected * selects gsm prior to speex no
matter the order I write my iax.conf allow command.

Daniel

That still does not tell Asterisk the ORDER of the codec selection.

2004-02-23 Thread Heison Chak
Unless you hack the code and change the order of the codec selection,
I don't think there is another way to do it.

Take a look at channel.c, frame.c & rtp.c.

My understanding is that when using SIP, the order within the [general]
section does affect priority.
This has been confirmed by my own testing.
However the order within individual user/peer settings, don't.
I see this is on the wishlist for chan_sip2.

I don't have so much experience with other channel types.
