[Asterisk-Users] MySQL Support For OS X

2005-05-24 Thread Michael Stearne
Does anyone have the MySQL add-on as a binary for OS X? Or am I
getting it wrong and MySQL is installed by default?

Thanks.

Did you actually try to search for it, or did you just blindly post?

http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/4.1.html

Scroll down to where it says Mac OS X downloads.

Michael,

I think this is not really an asterisk related post.
Next time use a mysql list or google, or your own research.

You can install mysql from source using Fink on OS X.

http fink.sf.net

Or, if you wanted, you could go to the Mysql downloads page and there
is a binary there.

Mysql is not installed on client as default, however it is on the
server edition of tiger.

All of this can be found with a simple web search.

Do you actually read the posts before you blindly lash out? I was
asking for the Asterisk MySQL add-on compiled on OS X.

Thanks,
Michael

Thanks Kyle. I was actually talking about the adding mySQL
functionality for Asterisk to OS X, not the MySQL server for OS X
itself.

Thanks,
Michael

Hey Michael,
Seems some other people don't read posts before posting replys. Are you
wanting a precompiled version of res_config_mysql or app_addon_mysql or
both?

Why do you need a precompiled version? Mac OS X comes with the tools
necessary to compile it yourself.

Both if possible.

Laziness. I used a binary for Asterisk so I didn't want to try to
recompile the whole thing.

Thanks!
Michael

The short answer is no. There aren't any precompiled versions of add-ons.
I've got OSX 10.3.9 at home, but I don't know the next thing about making a
cross-compat binary. We'd have to match all sorts of versions of all
libraries; too much of a headache.

It will take you less than 20 seconds to compile and install addons.

cd /usr/src/asterisk-addons
make
make install

done.
