Re: [asterisk-users] Druid Open Source Edition
I've been using Druid since their V since their V.3.2.5, and I have to say I love it. I haven't done a lot of advanced things with it though, but I know that their new version has almost all of it. Upgrade is not an option, a new license is, which is why I'm still with V325. Either way, Druid is the best GUI out there. As long as you don't mess with internal codes, you'll be fine. Apologies for being offtopic guys, but Senad, the outcall software you guys made is awesome. I only wish you could 'pick' phone numbers from emails and make it like a hyperlink so I can click it to make the call. ;) Mark. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Senad Jordanovic Sent: March 16, 2008 3:28 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [asterisk-users] Druid Open Source Edition Joshua Wilson wrote: It is the same whether you are using trixbox, switchbox, pbxware or any other system roughly. id like to know where you believe this is IP infringing every asterisk management tool has trunks administration, and if you ask me designing a GUI to manage asterisk trunks doesnt qualify as IP seeing as they all do exactly the same thing, manage trunks. theres nothing secret here. and assessing them all, well they all do one thing and thats configure asterisk. No pitch here. It is you making the sales pitch. This is the Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion list which you and Dean repeatedly use for commercial purposes. To get back on track, this is a little more complicated to get working on other distros than I previously thought. I am able to get the GUI to a page that says Upgrade Druid but it always fails with Upgrade database failed for version 1.0.0-1. I cannot find anything in any logs as to why. I am still playing with postgres and trying to see what scripts in the RPMs setup the DB and populate it. So far druid-psql-2.0.0.3.noarch.rpm and druid-release-5-1.0.el5.centos.1.i386.rpm is all I have been able to find. One just creates the DB and the other inserts the CDR table into the asterisk DB. Regards, Senad www.bicomsystems.com It's funny how Senad and Bicom show up in any GUI thread ;-) Anyways, I am assuming manual installation is possible but no directions. I was able to chmod the install.pl and run it with SetupAll, output is as follows: [EMAIL PROTECTED] trunk]# ./install.pl SetupAll SetupAll Adding appropriate asterisk files necessary for DRUID...DONE Setting up Asterisk Manager for DRUID...DONE Setting up Asterisk voicemail for use with DRUID...DONE Setting up Druid specific extensions.conf additions...DONE Setting up other Asterisk related operations...DONE Setting up zaptel configuration...DONE Setting setup for auto-provisioning...useradd: user druid exists DONE Setting up remaining configuration...DONE Reloading asterisk...DONE! I am assuming that the remaining directories need to be manually placed in the proper location or symlinked or even reconfigure apache (/admin for instance). Files in the /conf directory need to go in /etc/asterisk/. [EMAIL PROTECTED] conf]# ls dialpattern.conf druid_exten.conf druid_httpd.conf itsp.conf druid_exten.ael druid_func_odbc.conf features.conf sudoers PGSql.php Just from a cursory look, if chmod the install.pl file, ./install.pl SetupAll and drop the rest into your root HTML folder with the correct permissions the only other thing you need besides apache is Postgres. I don't have time to figure it right out now, but it is pretty clear that the ISO is not required, just a little experimenting (and the eventual documentation if someone gets around to it). Dean, If you are looking for a non-restricting and extensible Asterisk GUI please look at Thirdlane http://www.thirdlane.com http://www.thirdlane.com/ . If you are comfortable installing OS, Webmin and Asterisk, I would suggest installing PBX Manager GUI (packaged as a Webmin module), otherwise Thirdlane Advantage (CentOS based ISO) may be a good option. Re: [asterisk-users] Druid
Nice - I like where it's heading, finally someone came up with a half decent looking UI for a User Portal (though not perfect) I've consulted to 3 different companies about User Portals and not a single one has implemented anything near what it should look like. I just don't get why Asterisk product designers don't talk hire proper UI consultants to build the right solution. That's what you get for being cheap, all the pieces available and still no clue. Hi Dean, I am using Bicom Systems PBXware . In my opinion there is no asterisk GI that can compare to it.
