Egads. That'a shame, because from experience I can tell you that trying to make Asterisk work in a 'hosted' manner is really tricky. Asterisk wasn't designed with multiple companies in mind. -Original Message- From: Damon Estep [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, May 17, 2006 11:40 PM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: RE: [Asterisk-Users] Providers using Embedded Devices Most of the VoIP service providers I have encountered are moving in a different direction, with a goal of NOT having any customer premise equipment other than the SIP hard phones, soft phones, and ATAs, along with an IP access router with QoS. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:asterisk-users- [EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Douglas Garstang Sent: Wednesday, May 17, 2006 10:55 AM To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Providers using Embedded Devices Just curious... RE: [Asterisk-Users] Providers using Embedded Devices
We do it all day long :) That is what contexts are for. The only feature that still does not partition well is call parking ,and OEJ looks to have made some progress on that, but there needs to be some testing and there are not too many environments that are large enough and willing to test other branches. We have entered into a couple agreements with new clients that understand they will be new feature beta testers and we will be testing his code shortly. [Asterisk-Users] Providers with jitter buffer
I have two internet connections, the first is clean but the second, a Cable TV connection, has a lot of jitter on it. When the first fails, which it frequently does, I would like to fail over to the Cable connection and put a static route to another provider. However, to use it, I will need to enable the jitter buffer and have a lot of compensation. I need a reliable provider I can use this with. -- Chris Mason ___ --Bandwidth and Colocation provided by Easynews.com -- Asterisk-Users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users
[Asterisk-Users] Providers for PSTN Access
Hi, I've been looking at the various SIP VoIP service providers and their plans. I understand that Asterisk can be configured as a SIP client to access, for example, a BroadVoice account to access the PSTN and discount LD. I see that a lot of the features provided by SIP VoIP service providers are really not needed since Asterisk will provide them locally. I have no plans on dropping my local PSTN line. My primary objective is quality PSTN access for long distance. Preferably a flat rate for unlimited LD to US, Canada and possibly Europe. Are there any service providers that work better for Asterisk than others?
