This is a tenuous concept to begin with. You can't expect good implementations to be free. Zeeshan Zakaria wrote: Anybody? Re: [asterisk-users] Suggestions for web based soft phones
Please read my email again. I am looking for a non-free webphone and asking suggestions on whom to go with. Plus, I am not looking for complete implementation, just the webphone software, which is usually only a file or two. Re: [asterisk-users] Suggestions for web based soft phones
Sorry, I must have misunderstood your sentence, then: Seems like good web based solutions are all paid ones, nobody is giving it for free. Any ideas, suggestions whom to go with? This seems like it implies that the principal object of concern with existing implementations you've encountered is that they aren't free, although, strictly speaking, that is not the question posed. Anyway, it's still a tenuous concept. There's a lot of noise about it, but at the end of the day it just isn't that useful, mostly for reasons related to execution latency, non-real time oriented run-time environment in Flash, Java applets, etc. In-browser softphones just aren't very practical. Some may disagree with me. Zeeshan Zakaria wrote: Please read my email again. I am looking for a non-free webphone and asking suggestions on whom to go with. Re: [asterisk-users] Suggestions for web based soft phones
I've tried two Java based, including one from doodling.com, and they worked very well for me. I know somebody who is trying to do his business on a flash based web phone, and it works great, plus it also receives calls in the browser. That is what has motivated me to look for a similar solution. His is license based, custom developed. I think the technology is there which can be used reliably. I just saw yesterday Yahoo! has also some similar soluton of their own. I remember using dialpad.com year ago from dial-up Internet and it worked great.
