Has anyone played with the idea of Asterisk as an H.264 multicast tool? I am wondering what the possibility would be to have some kind of machine with a capture card call asterisk over SIP and have asterisk make another hundred calls to subscribers. Then any H.264 compatible device (Android? Set top boxes? Plugin to MythTV?) would be able to receive a video/audio stream.
