Re: [Asterisk-Users] Asterisk not outputting real time display

I usually use safe_asterisk or "/etc/init.d/asterisk start" the
defaults have always worked for me.

Hi,

But recently I upgraded and now when I do reload all I see is "Sep 14
12:55:25 NOTICE[393230]: indications.c:397
ast_unregister_indication_country: Removed default indication
country 'us'" and nothing more. What's worst, status is not
being updated, I can't see who calls who and if there are any errors.

Try starting Asterisk with -, or type 'set verbose 9'.

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Asterisk not outputting real time display

For almost 6 months now I've upgraded Asterisk every couple of weeks or
so and I've never had this problem. When I'm at the asterisk console
(asterisk -r) it shows me live status. Who called who, what it's playing
and when, etc. It logs to the screen. When I type reload, it says "added
so and so to so and so context" gives me some long display as it reloads.

But recently I upgraded and now when I do reload all I see is "Sep 14
12:55:25 NOTICE[393230]: indications.c:397
ast_unregister_indication_country: Removed default indication country
'us'" and nothing more. What's worst, status is not being updated, I
can't see who calls who and if there are any errors.

/var/log/asterisk/messages is still being updated, but it doesn't seem
to be as informational as it used to be, but I never played in that file
much. I then upgraded to a newer CVS and the problem disappeared. And a
day or two later I did another CVS upgrade and the problem is back
again. Any idea of what can cause Asterisk not to output to the local
screen?

I recently upgraded kernel's but not sure if that means anything. Our
main asterisk server is redhat 7.3, our secondary is Redhat 9.0 and they
both never saw this problem, until I upgraded the kernel on the 7.3
machine and upgraded asterisk. I thought it was the kernel until another
CVS update got rid of the problem, but then another CVS update brought
it back. I know that our remote asterisk servers (about 8 of them) all
use Gentoo and I've always had the problem with them, they never want to
output to the local console. No idea why. Help?
