They only require you to set the external interface if you are not using 
nat=yes in sip.conf.

well.  Asterisk itself is running fine...  The issue is for example, if in 
europe, behind an uncontrollable nat, are there good phones that can handle 
this without requiring the configuration of the external address?

IP.
