Their cards work. The only problem about govarion is their delivery
time. The cards are just not shipped as promised. And it's not only
mine experience.
So if you have time and you want save a buck go for it.
Otherwise i'd suggest some authorized digium reseller with stock.

You sound like Digium cards are always shipped fine. Our first order
from a Digium reseller was delivered in time, though they shipped old
revision card, which we had to rma. Our second order - directly from
Digium website - was delayed for about 10 days, and they would not ship
until we called them. Our third order - trying to get latest FXO modules
for sure - was delayed even more, it took tens of phone calls trying to
locate and ship my order... Just to show that Digium is no better than
anyone else for that matter.

I have no hands on experience with them, but they are based on the
open-source Tormenta card:

www.zapatatelephony.org

With Asterisk, I think any hardware manufacturer needs to be evaluated
not just on their products, but also on what they contribute to the
Asterisk community in general. Does Varion submit apps or patches?
Documentation? Community support?

Something to consider.

They are offering the open hardware T or E 400P cards. The plans for
those cards where made available for anyone to make the cards if they
desired. So while this isn't technically ripping off Digium, you aren't
supporting them.

Also as they are the older board design, they use more CPU power to do
the same work as the newer cards. On Digium's website they have a page
that shows performance differences between the cards.

So if you plan on stressing the box, and/or you want to be a good
community person, you will spend the extra amount and buy a Digium card
from one of the Digium authorized resellers.
