Re: [Asterisk-Users] Help on x101p disconnect when called party answers

 hi,

using a multimeter i have verified that the analog line we have actually
supports polarity reversal when the remote party answers and another
 reversal on hangup.

with this i assume that i can use the kewlstart signalling so that the
 x101p can automatically disconnect.

my problem is -- as soon as the called party answers, the call is
 disconnected.

This is a problem here too.. Is there any way to get the x101p/TDM400p
FXO ports to not disconnect when there is a polarity reversal or momentary
interruption of CO battery voltage on the PSTN line ?

Re: [Asterisk-Users] Help on x101p disconnect when called party answers

2005-11-23 Thread MZ
hi,
when i tried to observe the polarity reversal on my x101p (i only have
this), it seems that my x101p does not care about polarity reversals
but only battery interruption. my guess is that x101p is not capable of
detecting polarity and i was thinking that a tdm card will solve my
problem.

if you have a tdm400p maybe you can try to play with the answeronpolarity/hanguponpolarity in zapata.conf.

please tell me if my guess is correct that a tdm400p will solve this problem or else i'll be wasting money in buying a tdm400p.

thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by what type of switch you are connected to?
The
x101p is connected to the CO switch for my LEC.

Occasionally I do NPA-NXX lookups for my local exchanges to see what other
carriers have prefixes in my area. I used to use telcodata.us, but they seem
to have gone offline. Usually, after you find the carrier's name, you can
see info on the location and type of switch being used. I can't say with any
assurity that the info is accurate, but it is there if you dig.

busydetect and callprogress should be turned off in my experience,
enabling any of those parameters causes random drops.
comment the lines out of your config file, and try again.

How do you have your zaptel.conf set up (please post it here).

Also, what type of switch are you connected to?

 Scott,

Posted below are both zaptel.conf and zapata.conf as they were
configured when the problem occured.I have since changed the busydetect
parameter to have a value of no in light of Mark's advice. The problem has not
recurred (but it has been a very short while since I made the change) since
making the change.

I'm not sure what you mean by what type of switch you are connected to? The
