That maybe it.
Though with new addition: NVFaxDetect feature ATA will have more
advantages over PCI card.

Just makes me wander why Digium doesn't invest in ATA modules?
They have all the hardware so what is the problem putting them into one
box and make ATA

Not always.  Even with an all Zap/TDM call path, you *may* not always be 
able to fax reliably.  I experienced this recently.  I SUSPECT it's 
interrupt latency, but have not been able to fully solve the issue yet.

Yes, I'm aware of this; this unit is overpriced and comparing to other
ATA's (like Sipura unit) has very little features.

I don't see them coming with any innovations.
How about a unit that has more ports, fax signal detection etc.
For example:
1-FXO and 4-FXS
or 
2-FXO and 6-FXS
