So basically,
He wants all calls recorded, but he wants a sequence that he can push, so
that when he rants and raves at a customer, there won't be evidence to say
that he did that... :)

Just a hunch on that. :)

   I don't know.

I bet the reason is that when his gf calls, he can erase the records so
his wife's divorce attorney can not get his hands on them to play in court.

Hi Gregory,

I found something about recording at
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+config+features.conf

(second example). If you combine that with a
default_recording_enabled (Monitor() call before Dial(), I would expect),
that could be used to turn _off_ recording by pressing a key.

I would not know though how to protect against the external call party
pressing the same key.

Re: [asterisk-users] Call Recordings...

2008-07-23 Thread Gregory Malsack
I'm getting close. The idea is based on the same principal as the link below.
Here's what I have done thus far:

All calls are recorded via mixmonitor. This is part of the initial dialplan
when the call comes in.
I then created an application map key sequence that is supposed to run
stopmixmonitor. However I am unable to locate examples of syntax on that
command. Here is what I have:

stoprecording => *8,self/callee,StopMixMonitor,

This command syntax does not work and the recording continues on. Can anyone
provide direction on this?

Re: [asterisk-users] Call Recordings...

2008-07-23 Thread Gregory Malsack
I resolved this problem. The key was to get the right combination of
self/callee and peer/caller. Read the instructions regarding the application
map very closely. My problem was that I was not running the StopMixMonitor
command against the proper channel. Even though mixmonitor records both
channels simultaneously, the recording is only assigned to 1 channel and you
have to run the command against the originating channel of the call.

Re: [Asterisk-Users] Call recordings management

2006-05-09 Thread Matt Florell

This is possible with VICIDIAL. You can set a custom call recording
name scheme per campaign, and all recording names and IDs are stored
in a database. There isn't a utility included for automatically
transferring files by filename, but a script could easily be written
to take the filename from the database and batch FTP them to a remote
machine.
http://astguiclient.sf.net

If that's not what you are looking for you can easily use a dialplan
variable in Asterisk to define the recording filename when you start a
recording. You can also do that if you start recording through the
manager API.

How has anyone else solved this issue ?

Is there any other way of getting this into the dialplan ? I would rather
not have to have the users pressing a key, but for software to intercept the

This is crazy. Something about writing to the list gives me ideas ;)

What I am looking for is

show manager command pausemonitor

;)

Thanks anyway, all.

Oh, crap. the second I send, I realize I use features.conf, right ? ;)

Is there any other way of getting this into the dialplan ? I would rather
not have to have the users pressing a key, but for software to intercept the
appropriate point and perform some AMI command

Yeah, was looking at this - my "issue" is that the dialplan is already
running (the channel is already bridged to a SIP phone), so how do I tell it
*which* channel to pause ?

Check this link

http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+cmd+Monitor

Depending on your release, you can "pause" and "un-pause" monitoring.

Subject: [asterisk-users] Call recordings and sensitive information

During a telephone conversation with a customer, they sometimes give card
details over the phone. under the pci-dss regulations we are not allowed to
record the conversation where the details are being given. Is there a "mute
command" or pause that can be sent to MixMonitor ?

How has anyone else solved this issue ?

Many thanks

Julian
